Visa, Mastercard, and other payment processors have been attacking NSFW artists. They’ve been forcing sites to ban 18+ content entirely to comply with their guidelines. Their latest move was itchio and it’s a matter of time that they move to Patreon. On top of that, multiple age verification bills are circulating with the most popular bipartisan bill being KOSA (Kids Online Safety Act).

Both of these combined would mean that not only would I not be able to make money from my work but Second Contact in its uncensored state would be run off of social media entirely. Social media and individual sites that host adult content will force you to send them your government ID to use their platform. This is not just a move to ban adult content, these laws and guidelines will affect lgbt content, the news, resources like Wikipedia, etc.

Please contact these payment processors and your representatives and let them know how you feel about this. You may have to tailor your complaints around your representative’s politics. This goes beyond artists, this is an attack on free speech entirely.
