Christmas is upon us and I know many of you aren't really feeling it this year so here's my little Christmas challenge to you. I hope it helps a little and you find a little joy this holiday season!

Heh, well, challenge already accomplished. 🥰 It's been a rough year health-wise, and I made the choice back in October, when I was stressing about getting ready for my fave holiday Halloween, to give myself some grace. Just focused on my favorite parts of dressing up and handing out candy, no decorations or extra activities. Only made one dish for Thanksgiving but made sure to show love to friends and family. While I'm not Christian I've always liked the Christmas vibes, and usually dress the house up for Yule. This year though it's just my little tree and a wreath on the door, and instead of my usual experimenting in the kitchen I'm just focusing on making a lot of what I'm good at to send out as care packages. Stuff is replaceable. People, and love, aren't.

I have to say that it was hard for me to celebrate Christmas after my mom passed away...but this year, I said, enough is enough...I started baking cookies with my daughter, next weekend we will decorate the house...I'm starting to look forward to the Christmas holidays again🌲🎼♥️Merry Christmas everyone 🎅

Awww, you are such a softie 💓 and such a lovely message. 🥹 I'm honouring my parents this year who always made Christmas a joy, even though we didn't have much. The rule was, everything got wrapped, even a pencil or notebook. It was the joy of Chrismas morning and watching each other unwrap our gifts, no matter how small 🥰 I'm creating cosy corners and planning Christmas Dinner with my family and this year I promise, I'm creating space for myself to sit quietly and just be in the moment. Nice message it's really sad in a way but the last good Christmas I had was in 1995. To be honest I really can't remember what it feels like to be happy because it's been so long since I felt that way.

Hm, this was a thoguht-provoking reminder, Hank. In the end, it's really all about one's mindset, isn't it? Thank you for sharing some well chosen nuggets of thought. Christmas-time has always been a strange concept for me . Every year is the same, everybody is miserable, tired and hiding behind a facade of sparkling junk and stupid expectations. But I refuse to partake in misery! I spent my last winter in hospital because of an attempt, which was a truly low point in my life. But as they say, it made me stronger... I let it make me stronger and changed my attitude towards life. As you say, we have gifts all around us if we really choose to look. I hope you have an amazing christmas Hank, and that you'll get to spend it with those nearest and dearest to you. Thanks for being a ray of light in the world. Have a joyful december!

Thank you for your kind words to us❣ My friend also said it doesn't feel like the festive season this year😂 I've been thinking it might be related to things like the Earth's axis shifting, or maybe something about how we feel time has changed... But since Christmas is my favorite time of the year, it would be such a waste not to feel it at all! So, I've put up at least a few decorations😆🎄 I hope Hank can enjoy even just a little bit of the Christmas spirit too!
