Hank, it was unexpected to hear you crying in I Need You, but not because I think you're incapable of realistically conveying that emotion. No. I think I was surprised, because your audios usually seem to stop short of allowing your listeners to hear you express that level of vulnerability. The pain in your voice was quite genuine. It felt real and that's what moved me. It's a risk to portray such intense feelings in a story when there's no visual to go with it, no expression on your face that listeners can see to go with the voice. I think that makes it much more difficult to pull off without sounding phony. The tendency would be to overdo it. You gave us just the right amount of sadness...the perfect mix of regret and longing. So I'm very glad to hear that you enjoyed pushing your limits that way. My hope is that you'll go to this vulnerable place in your stories more often. Show us more of the tender (and not always in control) side of Hank and not just in the Friends To Lovers audios, but also in more unexpected scenarios as well. Overall, I really enjoyed hearing the process you went through to get yourself there and realizing you needed to allow it in order to be authentic. Thanks for another interesting glimpse behind the scenes in your studio. 💖💓💖
