This is just for fun.....

I know some of you have acoustic guitars and many have asked me to do a video on how to change your strings so here it is.

Nothing bugs me more than hearing stories of guitar stores charging ridiculous amounts of money to change guitar strings. You can do this!!! Just be patient, take your time and you'll have your guitar playing in no time!

This is boring as hell but I hope it helps :)

Change Your Own Damn Strings :)

I know that some of you have acoustic guitars and I've gotten requests to show you how to change your strings and here it is...I hope this helps and gets you all playing again :)

Okay, you’ve been picking at my brain somehow, because I was gathering the courage to ask if you could do a cover of Wish You Were Here. Well, didn’t need to ask! ♥ These videos are more interesting than you think! I love them! Thank you for sharing, Hank!

Spooky Lyns (Lynsey)

Hank, thank you! This was not at all boring. I find videos like this really interesting. It really helps to know that if certain unexpected things happen, it's kinda normal and ok and that I haven't damaged the guitar as a result. 🙈 And bonus Pink Floyd at the end! 😍 🙌 Perfect! 🥰🧡

Anita

Well, this wasn’t useful for my guitar at all 😂 since both her tailpiece and her headstock are different – like Señorita’s actually. So, if you ever feel like recording a string change on her, that would be super helpful. Pretty pleeeease … 🥺☺️🤞 BUT I did still enjoy this video – very much! 😍😍 It wasn’t boring at all. On the contrary, you never known when I might want to string up a guitar like Miranda. 😉 And even if not, I was especially fascinated when you showed how to safely fix new strings at the tailpiece!! I also actually had a guitar string snap on me before when I sanded down my bridge and tested out the action. For some reason, I had it in my head that the low E should be an entire octave (!!!) higher. 🙈😂😂 Nobody & no guitar got hurt. But damn, that was scary! 😱 Luckily, I already had a set of new strings ready. 😮‍💨

Anita

And I also LOVED seeing a close up of your left hand when you were playing a bit at the end. Acoustic guitars are a special kind of magic, and you can bring it out so beautifully! 🫠🫠🫠

My sentiments echo Anita's, the guitar I have is classical but this video was still fascinating. I had thought the strings anchored much more easily on this style of guitar and now I know better. Learning new things, techniques and possible trouble spots is never boring! Thank you for another fun lesson Professor Miller. : )

I have to say, this is the best string changing tutorial on the internet! So many others make it far more complicated than it needs to be. Also, hearing you play instantly puts a cheesy smile on my face😊

I will definitely do a follow-up on how to change strings on a classical guitar soon :)

This was really really helpful, i just have a quick consultation, how do a choose the strings? Like what do i have to take in consideration for choosing them? 🧐

I would say gauge (thickness) and quality. Heavier (thicker strings) are louder and thicker sounding but harder to press down. Lighter strings are easier to play but sound thinner. One example is a rhythm player would want thicker strings to be louder whereas the one playing primarily solos would want lighter strings. As far as quality goes I use D'addario and they range from not so expensive to stupid expensive. I just buy the regular ones. They work fine for me and they won't cost you a fortune

Which one would you recommend to someone who's just like a casual player, not a pro or anything?

Amu

Thank you Hank. Now that's a good reminder to change my violin strings....that's gonna take my awhile :O

Elena

Not this triggering the memory of me trying and failing spectacularly to learn how to play guitar years ago. To this day is one of my greatest failures. But I also really enjoyed watching this little tutorial for reasons I will keep to myself. So thank you very much for the little trip to memory lane.

Becca

It wasn't boring, quite the opposite! Even though I don't play guitar myself, it's incredibly interesting to learn about it. Especially when someone like you, who loves to play and doesn't just see his guitar as an object, talks about it. It's not for nothing that Guitar Day is one of my relaxing audios. And now I have something to watch and enjoy even more. Thank you for making this video and sharing it with us!

Right?!?! Guitar Day is one of my favorite audios. To have it basically in video form is so wonderful! I feel like I’m sitting across from him just hanging out while he tends to the girls. It’s actually really interesting and relaxing. 🥰💕

Absolutely Let's sit down and sip our Yorkie and watch Hank and just have a chilled time. sounds like the perfect day💞

Bailey Miranda

There is something stress relieving about watching you take care of your guitars. More please. 😁

Susheila

I enjoyed that very much ! 😊🥰💋😘

Bee

Glad to see your girls are keeping you busy. Interesting to see a process like that. I'd probably lose an eye if I attempted anything like that 😉 Excellent work Mr Miller! 👏

Ana

I really enjoyed this ☺️ I’m not a guitar player but always nice to learn something new

Sarah

This was so wonderful. 😊 Educational & very relaxing. Not boring at all. I think it’s very interesting, but you already know that I’m wacky & love learning this stuff. 😆 Firstly… “finger schmegma”??? Ewwww… 🤢🤣 Secondly, ahhhhhhh I LOVE Miranda! She earned a place in my heart when she appeared in what is probably my top favorite audio of yours. 😍 Plus, I think it’s cool that she gets to be your work horse & go on all these adventures with you. Thirdly, despite your protests, you’re a fantastic teacher, Hank. This was so easy to understand & makes me feel a lot more confident. And you didn’t even tell me once to put more d*ck in my playing. 😉😂 And lastly… You had me swooning when you played “Wish You Were Here”! 🫠🫠😍😍🥰🥰 That song has a lot of meaning for me and holds a special place in my heart. Oh, what would I give to hear more…. 💸💸😂😂 This was amazing, Boss! You’re the best. As ever & always, thank you, Hank. 💕🩷

Rike

Those inlays are so beautiful, and seeing them get some love - that’s the stuff. I’d watch a whole series of you restringing and deep cleaning your guitars, not even kidding :D
