I love bedtime stories ❤️🖤🐺

Amanda

Do you even sleep, Hank? 🙂

Anita

Can’t wait to listen tonight! 😌🥰

Spooky Lyns (Lynsey)

Aww! 🥺 I just wanted to hug the lil dude! 🤗 Glad he found 'his people' in the end. 🥰 Wonderfully told, as always, Hank! Thank you! 🧡

This one’s always been a slightly emotional one for me. I can still remember my mom or grandparents reading this one to me and even at a very young age finding myself in tears. So, I’m (oddly enough) anticipating this one even more when I go to sleep tonight! 🥰 The month of September’s audios have really been a lot of nostalgia for me! thank you Hank!! ❤️

Thank you Hank, I love this bedtime story.

I don't want to speak for others but I can definitely relate to this story, and I feel for the little cygnet as well. There have been/are many times I felt like the ugly duckling so I know the emotional pain that accompanies being made fun of, stared at, etc and not fitting in. This little guy was perfect right from the beginning. This story always gets me. ♥️🦢

Nancy I feel you!! I've always been the ugly girl in school, high school even in my family I was compared to my two beautiful slender cousins. Even my mom was frustrated because she got the ugly kid . So yeah...I get emotional and I also relate a little too much.

sarah

Anita

I don't think you're ugly at all! You are beautiful! I always feel for animals in stories as well so I wanted to hug this little guy and keep him safe and warm over the winter months. Also, in the pond near my neighborhood there is a swan's nest and every year the same pair nest there and lay eggs. Sometimes I see a swan in the tall grass and it makes me smile. ♥️

Nobody is ugly. There are just some people with ugly hearts and some with beautiful hearts and the thing this story seems to do either intentionally or not is show you the difference :)

Very well said, and I think this story does a wonderful job of showing that. It demonstrates how when you are unkind to others it is hurtful. Accepting people regardless of their physical appearance is how we should all act. It truly is what is inside that counts.

This was a nice story for the day. 10/10

I know this tale is about inner beauty, compassion and acceptance...but it will always bring the painful memory of little me waiting for her swan moment and never getting it.

Elisa

So sweet!! Made me sleep like a baby😴

Becca

It was heavenly...at least that's what I remember, I fell asleep after a few minutes.😴 Your soothing voice, your caring nature, when you tuck us in... I can never manage to keep my eyes open. Thank you for this restful sleep.💕

Shiva

"Not lonely again" That was beautiful ❤️👍🥹

Such a favorite tale! It was beautiful to hear you read it, Hank! 😍🥰 I really get a kick out of how you start the bedtime stories. The playful banter of tired vs. not tired & care makes me giggle. I too identified with this story when I was young. Then, I grew up & found different meaning & clarity in it. When I was young I thought that I was ugly because I was always a little off beat, odd, and different from the people around me. With age came the clarity of a deeper understanding, much like what you said a few comments back. (Love the way you put that btw) That no one is ugly, truly. That each person is beautiful in their own way. Instead, what I really understand about this story now, is how it portrays the struggle of being different… being unique… and how transformative it can be when we honor our authenticity. And how oftentimes when we find & embrace our authentic self we tend to find the people who support & honor us. Just as we are. And the most beautiful part is when we reflect this message back to one another. And… as always, that kiss on the forehead makes me smile. As ever & always, thank you Hank. 💕
