Hi all!

We'll be recording the behind the scenes patreon bonus episodes for 2024 soon, and this time we'll have Brie Williams, who recently went from guest writer to official third co-writer of Night Vale, with us answering questions as well.

So get us those questions and we'll get to answering them!

Thanks,

Joseph

I think the most important question is: since Jeffrey and Cecil started their own podcast reviewing movies and meg, Hal, and symphony have their recap/food podcast what is the podcast Brie and Joseph will now start together? This is a joke.

Nathaniel Grubbs

I really enjoy all the diverse names used in the show. But how do you come up with so many names representing such a diversity of cultures and origins?

Glenn Dallas

Hello Jeffrey, hello Joseph, and a hearty welcoming cry of "Interloper!" to Brie. Are there any characters or storylines in Night Vale that resonated with the fans (or with you) in a way that surprised you afterward? Thanks for all the hard work and time spent in making a world just as weird as ours, but far more pleasant to hang out in.

Marc Sebes

Writing alone is obviously challenging for the ego. How do you deal with criticism and/or disagreements in the writer’s room.

Light

INTERLOPER!!!!!!! I thought the last episode was excellent, good stuff Brie. :))))

O.

Hey there! Will Estaban, Cecil and Carlos's son, ever have a voice on the show? I want to get to know him. <3 he deserves his own episode

Ollie of the Beholder

You mentioned once that one of your rules is that anything you establish in the podcast remains true there. Is there anything about the worldbuilding of Night Vale that you regret?

Uura Pohjola

What are the biggest differences between writing a regular 30 minute episode and writing a live show?

Joy Ramirez

one of my favorite things about nightvale is how there are multiple storylines going on at once without it feeling like one story is taking over the show or is completely forgotten by you guys (the writers). How do you keep that balance of writing several plots at once without it feeling overwhelming to keep up with and do you think that balance will change with a permanent third writer joining the team?

Tor

Brie, who is your favorite character to write?

Tor

Brie, who do you find most challenging to write about?

Joseph Robertson

Is there a character or plot line you’d really love to revisit, but it just hasn’t come back up?

madelynnn

What was or is your favorite arc to write? Whether it be character arcs or the “villain” type arcs we’ve seen in the past. Thanks bunches for all y’all do! :)

Odyssey Eight

Has there ever been a character, plot point, idea/concept, joke/bit, etc. That you've so badly WANTED to work into night vale and just couldn't find a way to make it work and just had to shelf it?

Olivia jaudeau

How do you get to write for this incredible show?!? But more seriously, what have you found to be to be the most challenging writing for a show with so much lore? Congrats on becoming a full-time writer!! 💜

Do Pokémon exist in nightvale universe?

Vivika Kerridge

How do you manage the world and character building between you? Is there ever any conflict over "Harrison Kip would NEVER" or "Why would night vale even HAVE a Starbucks?"
