WEEKLY UPDATE! GAMES 5 & 6 - always go full brainstorm mode (Patreon)

Hello all! It's the start of the whirlwind! We said last week we're going to try and get some financing for the next game, and the date to submit the documents are may 11th, so we're all hands on deck figuring out what on earth is the game going to be.

I have not forgotten about game 5. The necrobuilder is still ongoing, but there's little to show, I'm just moving bits of code around, trying to make it all more digestible and readable.

But let's start it with info on the new game!

We're going to be staying quite vague for now, we're still finding the game and the tone and everything. BUT! we've started writing a TON of stuff about systems & lore & worldbuilding & combat (yep there's going to be combat).

Here's the folder structure (yes I know we haven't moved on from google docs yet, we're still looking for good open source alternatives, if you have any, feel free to suggest them below)

Myu has been going nuts on worldbuilding & story and it has been a delight to read so far. I can almost see the game in my mind's eye already.

I've been concentrating on sound design & music vibes. And figuring out how the combat system is going to be.

If you haven't guessed it yet : we're making an RPG inspired by classic JRPG games (how do you call a jrpg not made in japan but in france? an FRPG? (French Role Playing Game?)

I made a post on reddit asking for things people liked in their jrpgs, and recorded all the answers. Hopefully we'll be able to make people happy.

I'm very excited, JRPGs were my favorite type of game to play growing up. And there's bound to be a couple nods & references & inspirations everywhere. What is your favorite RPG? Tell me which ones I should try out and maybe learn something from!
