My driver's ed car (early 60s) was a stick, and I've driven them a few times since. Never did own a stick, though.

I have never driven a stick. I do feel this makes me less of a man. But it doesn't motivate me enough to actually go out and learn. One factor is that in North America now, it's really hard to learn how to drive a stick. I mean, if you don't own a manual car, how do you learn? I knew a guy in high school who learned to drive stick through the arcade driving game 'Hard Drivin'. It was apparently very close to reality, and it had a clutch and everything.
