This was a incredible episode. I’ve been wanting to watch this show forever and finally am. It is so good.

Great episode. Loved when Hamilton is telling Flint that strange pairs can achieve the most unexpected things and it transitions to Flint and Silver figuring out their plans on the ship, simplistic yet masterful storytelling. Yep that was our Billy! Guy can't catch a break, goes from nearly drowning to being tortured. Flint out manoeuvring Dufresne was child's play for him. And this was the ep I went from enjoying Jack to loving his character.

Same for me with Jack. Love his character too. There are so many different personalities in this show, it’s hard for me to pick favorites (I do have one - to be revealed later so as not to cause spoilers). Just a great episode all around!

Flint played Dufrense like a cheap violin and it was awesome. I loved how Flint's manipulations parallel the Admiral talking about the darkness in McGraw/Flint and what he might do if pushed far enough. And Flint proves to the crew that it doesn't matter if they hate him, they NEED him.

Picking a fav character in this show is like picking a fav child

After Black Sails you should check out Hell on Wheels. It tells the story of the building of the Transcontinental Railroad across the old West. It has great plot lines, awesome character development, and one of the best villains I've seen.
