I did come across a medical paper detailing a couple cases of injury via electric toothbrush. Right off the bat, though, I’m approaching this paper with some hesitancy. Ya see, here’s the first line:

“In recent years, electric toothbrushes have become widespread. However, injuries caused by electric toothbrushes have rarely been reported.”

Then how do you know they’ve become “widespread”?! What’s that based on? I get that it can be assumed that many types of injuries and afflictions go unreported. But you can’t just lay a statement out there like it’s fact without explaining why you’re so convinced!

Oh, wait, I think I know. I think this dude fucks up his mouth while brushing his teeth all the time “in recent years” but never tells anyone. That might just be you, dude. Maybe it’s not. But… you could just be uniquely bad at scrubbing those choppers.

Or, for all I know, they actually explain this conclusion deeper into the paper. I didn’t read the whole thing. Give it a [read](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7755488/) if ya want and let us know if you want to induce a new crippling fear into all of us.
