Oh hey, pals!

In the back half of the next Resties, we'll share our predictions (and dream announcements) ahead of Summer Games Fest. We'd like to include your predictions (and Mother 3 fantasies) too. Share them in the comments and we will pick some to read on the episode!

Outside curveball but I'm quietly hopeful for some news about Steam Deck 2. The fact Valve is making it seems to be basically an open secret at this point, but I don't know if specs have been shared. That would really help independent developers looking to capitalize on the current wave of handheld-PCs hitting the market, and start a dev cycle with more than enough time until the hardware releases!

There's a rumour about a handheld playstation that plays PS4 games but I really think they'd be better off making a handheld PS3. Most of the best PS4 games are on steam already but MGS4/Red Dead 1/Ratchet and Clank Future trilogy/OG demons souls and more are all not on steam.

Light No Fire announcement! I can't wait for this game, I think they are going to be very cautious with this release and make a very fun multiplayer experience

I would like to see more for the game Earthblade, which is supposedly coming out this year. I have been following Maddy Thorson's work since she used to post her game maker games online, and I'm excited to see what the Celest team do with a search action title.

Summer Games' twitter says meta will be there, perhaps with more information on the batman game that was teased. I certainly hope to see more for VR game announcements, but I would imagine meta would save most for Meta Connect. VR Gaming is still somewhat of an oddball to the rest of the gaming industry!

Microsoft tries to save face from the recent closures and announces DLC/sequel to High Fi Rush, which backfires almost immediately.

A new Nier game called Nier: Automata. Spelled the same, but this time everyone (including Plante) pronounces it ah-tom-ah-tuh and not awe-toe-mah-tuh. And hell, while we're at it, Nintendo announces an alternate universe Mario game called Marry-Oh!

Ever since Capcom announced the name change of their 'RE Engine' to the 'REX Engine' in line with next-gen upgrades, I have felt it is inevitable we eventually get a Dino Crisis remake. Maybe now is the time?

With it being the 20th anniversary of Monster Hunter I'm very surprised Capcom doesn't have ANYTHING planned for this year. We know to expect more info on Wilds at Summer Games Fest, but I'm thinking they might announce a remaster of an older Monster Hunter game that will be out before the end of the year.

Alan Wake 2 expansion announcement, and Twilight Princess/Wind Waker HD coming to Switch. That second one is just hopeful though, it's never going to actually happen

The Dragon Age team has been pretty quiet so maybe some good news about Dreadwolf. Honestly hoping for a late 2024 release, possibly end of fiscal year / early 2025? That studio needs a big win, ugh

Maybe a trailer for Valve's new game Deadlock that has leaked. Looks too early to have gameplay, so maybe some announce teaser.

My money's on a Bioshock update (or maybe I just really want a Bioshock update).

A Star Wars tactical game either like XCOM or similar to the old Empire at War games. Disney announced a while back that other companies would start working on Star Wars games so I would expect some to start showing up similar to the Outlaws announcement from last year.

Surely the June Direct will be full of surprises. The only big game I can think of that’s releasing after June is Pokemon Legends Z-A and that’s next year. I know this is probably Switch’s last year (what with the confirmation of new hardware on twitter), but the Direct won’t have any information on that new hardware. So what’s gonna be there? ENTER METROID PRIME 4, XENOBLADE CHRONICLES X PORT, SILKSONG (it’s rated by the ESRB this one isn’t cope), BLOODBORNE????????????????

Super late, maybe its been said further down, but I think Microsoft knows it's a make or break and that's why blizzcon was canceled- instead they're going to pull any of those announcements this week and pass as their own, main one being the diablo expansion with an announcement it'll be on game pass

There will 100 percent be a trailer for Alan Wake 2 dlc, given that Remedy recently changed their twitter account to Poison Pill Entertainment, founded in Night Springs City in 1995.

I just wanted to mention how insane of a year it has been for VR which is extra insane when taken into consideration that last year was also truly insane for VR. This year already has my GOTY VR Skater (an amazing VR skateboarding with one of the most ingenious control schemes I've ever experienced), Blade & Sorcery 1.0, Contractors Showdown (in short, the Warzone to the standards Contractor's COD), Ghosts of Tabor, Max Mustard, Retropolis 2. Not to mention the litany of AAA VR games announced for later this year like Arkham Shadows, Alien: Rogue Incursion, Metro, Behemoth, etc. I am drowning in 9/10 VR games this year
