The peeping tom problem: you bring it up at a convenient point and just bring up your apartment's visibility without ever saying anything about hers. Talk about how moving in you noticed your apartment was fully visible and that's why you first thing installed curtains as part of a little anecdote about how silly the layout is or some shit. Small talk them into figuring things out themselves.

That last question is a great example of how sometimes "would I be the asshole" and "would I seem like the asshole" are very different questions

The only reason that the last one is a problem is that you didn't just say it to the person first opportunity you got. "Hey I just moved in and noticed I can see into your place, don't know if you were aware." That seems extremely normal to say compared to "I have been able to see into your apartment for a month and I am only now mentioning."

While I think him wanting to be a short king is funnier, based on the type of guy he sounds like, I think the guy in the second story might be because not only is his stepbrother taller than him, but his stepbrother’s gf is 6’2”, one inch taller than him, and he can’t handle it.

Maybe I'm misreading this, BUT I see the short king post as a haha joke and the guy saying it outloud is embarrassing as it's his attempt to enter the convo ( even if it means being mean to his taller brother behind his back) and it is the 6th time, dude is awkward AF
