Devlog #6 (Patreon)

I'm already hard at work on 0.15, It's been a tough week, writing the newest Main quest. It's a long one and It has kind of a different tone to the rest of the game, so I wanted to make sure that it was as high quality as I could make it. It's clocking in at about 6,000 words by itself and it's going to have probably 40ish renders to go with it, so it's a big undertaking.
The worst part is, it's only the first of TWO main quests. I really want this new dimension to get of on the right foot, with enough time to establish it's themes and world without just cutting the player off after 5 minutes of gameplay.
As you can see by the thumbnail, I've been making some new backgrounds, experimenting with new types of lights and lighting tricks. I'm not sure if you can guess the theme of the upcoming dimension from just this, but it's safe to say it's somewhat fantastical in nature, but not without it's good share of eery uncertainty.
All the new characters for the update have been designed and modeled, I think there's a total of 8 new characters introduced in the update. Not all main characters of course, and not even all of them are girls. What's wrong with overdesigning an NPC that you only see once, I say!
I'll show off the new characters next devlog, I promise. For now, I'm going to get back to writing because I've got another main quest, like 9 events and perhaps a sidequest to write. (help).
We're also trying to work out a new shop system, but I'll have more news on that later.
Anyway, back to the writing mines for me, I hope you all have a great week and I'll make sure to post the poll for May in the next couple of days, so keep an eye out for that, patrons.
