Oooh. You've made my Christmas Eve. Will be watching that in an hour once I've finished some jobs 😁

monulito

yaaaaaas here we go!!!

Todd Burroughs

Oh, I'm so glad I ordered food! You couldn't wait, could you??? LOLOLOL You're gonna be singing love songs for MONTHS....

Max Packer

The actress who plays young Amelia Pond is actually Karen Gillan's (Adult Amy) cousin. That's one of the reasons they look so similar. Her name is Caitlin Blackwood and she is now 25 years old and looks even more like Karen/Amy!!

monulito

lmao too many good quotes from you in this one Matt Smith is great in this, you are gonna love it

stcyl

Yay!!!

Murray Gold is a musical genius! The 11th Doctor's themes and music are my absolute favorite!

As soon as I saw the notification, my Christmas Eve improved 100 and 11%.

Reel Reaction

Hahahahahaha!!!! That's my man...imma stick besides him 🤣🤣

Reel Reaction

That makes sense! This was impeccable casting. And boy 25 already....I feel old 🫣

Reel Reaction

I loooove him already haha but im a little biased 😅

Reel Reaction

I love that they changed it! I'm guessing there's a change for every Doctor?

Reel Reaction

I'm glad I could make your Christmas better!!! 🎄

you saw a wedding dress because she has to get back for "stuff" tomorrow morning... it's been 2 whole years... 😬

oh and it's crazy how many Doctor Who guest stars later became huge Hollywood Movie Stars. They were unknown or on the rise or 'British' famous when on Doctor Who but now they're known worldwide and some even have damn Oscars... we've already seen Simon Pegg, Andrew Garfield, Carey Mulligan, Felicity Jones, Daniel Kaluuya, Gemma Chan and now Olivia Coleman.... who knows who could be next 😬 it's like a right of passage for famous British Actors to have played an earlier role in Doctor Who! 😂

There is a great live event they have in the UK called the Doctor Who at the Proms from the BBC. If you get a chance to see it on YouTube, there is an amazing one from 2024 that has all the Doctor's themes with an orchestra, it is wonderful!

I was so glad to see Matt get a lot of recognition for House of the Dragon, because he really deserves it. The Crown got him noticed by the big wigs like Condal but the masses came to know him through HOTD. I’ve actually been watching Doctor Who since the 80’s so I have a lot of love for the classic Doctors. I just loved Matt 1st thing. Fawn over him all you want, it’s fine lol. It’s a great 1st episode, thank you for the reaction, Merry Christmas!

It was a really interesting choice to cast Matt as the Doctor - he was barely known as an actor at this time. And a lot of fans of David were dead set against him. But goddamn, he nails it immediately. One of the best casting choices ever. I think the best actors to play the Doctor are character actors or very new actors or very established actors. Not 'famous' actors in all their pomp, if you get me. It should always be an actor on a tangent, slight or otherwise, to the mainstream.

Also, yeah, welcome to The Scottish Era of Doctor Who. Though technically all eras of Who since Eccleston have been Scottish in some sense - Moffat a regular writer from series one, David Tennant the Scottish Doctor, even if he changed his accent for the role, now Moffat the head writer with Amy Pond the Scottish companion. And, later on, another Scottish Doctor - the best Doctor imo but we'll put that aside for now ;) And then, even later, Ncuti - YET ANOTHER SCOTTISH DOCTOR. Ncuti is actually from Dunfermline, a town near me. Very weird to think that he went out in this town before finding fame on Sex Education and Doctor Who. And as a bonus, Classic Who - Sylvester McCoy, another Scot Doc. A random thought - there have only ever been English and Scottish actors to play the Doctor, while the other two UK nations - Northern Ireland and Wales - have never produced an actor who played the Doctor. Weird! They definitely deserve it. But Scotland, proportionally, has given us the most Doctor actors. Anyway, sorry, point is - Doctor Who is disproportionately Scottish in many ways. I love it. (Yeah, I'm Scottish, I would, but I'm also being objective here...)

Todd Burroughs

Oh, yeah! I owe you my David-to-Matt story! And Merry Christmas, Happy Festivus, Happy "Stranger Things" viewings, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy Watch Night service and Happy New Year, by the way! Okay, so your huzzzbund ;) was my first (and last) #NotMyDoctor. See, back in those days, if you looked up "Hetero Man Crush" the first page would be me hugging a David Tennant cardboard cutout! (I wish I had actually done that so it could have actually happened! LOLOLOL) So I was upset that my Doctor--my dude!!!!--was leaving...but wait, replaced by a 27-year-old nobody (to an American)?!?!?!? NOPE! The Doctor....*younger than me?* NOPE! Exterminate! So I watched this episode and said "Hmmm....." Then I watched the next one. At the end of 5x2, I was like, "David Who? Never heard of him...!!!" ;)

Todd Burroughs

Yeah, I was one of those anti-Smith fans, as I have written above.

Lucky Lavender

Hiya! New subscriber here. Are you watching with subtitles? I recommend watching subtitles for Americans bc sometimes dialogue can be misunderstood.

Reel Reaction

HOTD was the first show I've seen him in and he was so good, i feel like i have to go back and watch his full catalog of movies and shows! Merry Christmas to you too and happy new year!

Reel Reaction

I would love to see an Irish or Welsh Doctor (in their respective accent) but I love how Scotland has been dominating the show!! hahaha The only friend I have from the UK is from Scotland so i rooting for everybody Scottish!

Reel Reaction

HAHAHAHA that cardbord picture part made me laugh so hard!! Matt is so good in this so far! I can only imagine how sad i am going to be when his run is done!

Reel Reaction

Hey welcome!! :D and no im not but maybe I should :p I'm sure some things went over my head a few times lol
