I'm going write as I watch and just post the finished comment at the end. Louis and Claudia's bond is stronger in ways than Lestat's with. But a bond with a maker has it's own strengths and drawbacks. I think maybe because of the times, even vampires couldn't see a life with having two fathers and she picked the one being her father that she liked more, and that if she called dad in public wouldn't be looked at oddly. Only my guess here. Because Claudia, I don't know if it's because he is her maker or what, but she's is Lestat Jr in some respects. The funny thing about Anne Rice's books, she wrote them so long ago, she created several of the "vampire lore" that is known today, she's not perfect but it's interesting to see. Anne based Claudia off her 5 year old daughter that died. So in the books, it's even more messed up, the move she was like 11 and here 14.
