some interesting things to think about from this episode: - I think you're right when you say Hannibal doesn't like being out of control. And your questions about the possibility of building community with people like him are good ones. I believe Hannibal was maybe willing to be Tobias's friend until Tobias revealed how he found Hannibal out: Hannibal wants someone worthy of his friendship, before Tobias says that, he thinks that Tobias has maybe been clever enough to see through his "human veil", only to find out that he just got lucky with stumbling upon Hannibal's crime. Evidently, that is not good enough to earn his friendship. - In the same vein: Hannibal says he wants to be Will's friend, yet sends Will to Tobias's knowing Tobias said he'd kill whoever the FBI sends after him. Maybe some interesting things to consider here about what friendship with Hannibal means. - Hannibal takes Tobias's kill away from him after Tobias said he had "killed two men", to which Hannibal has a visible reaction. Later he seems visibly relieved to see Will alive. So, some things to consider going forward: Do you believe Hannibal is genuine about wanting to be Will's friend? What could Hannibal be trying to accomplish by sending a potential friend into a situation where their life is in danger from another killer? Will has been having increasingly frequent hallucinations, what could be the symbolism of things like the stag and the injured/dying/trapped animals? Enjoying the reactions!

Yes!!! Hannibal wants people to be worthy! Stumbling upon his act is simple luck. For now I dont think hr wants Will as a friend but on some level he cares about him. We'll probaly get some clarity on his feelings for Will, but ii dont think friendship is what he is after. I wish Tobias made it a little longer, I was eager to see Hannibal's interaction with someone who knows who he is (at least the killing part). And i was wondering if he would confide in him about his cannibalism. It would have been interesting to see how far he would confide in someone who saw him kill.

Ah I've been unable to watch Patreon videos for 2 weeks, now I'm finally getting back to them and there are so many Hannibal and WWDITS vids to watch! I'm so excited! I hope you're still enjoying both shows! I apologise in advanced if I'm about to spam you with comments!

Reel Reaction

Hahaha spam away Kitt!! I am enjoying both shows and Hannibal has to be one of my favorite show at the moment.

Poor Franklin. It does seem all those therapists did manage to get through to him somewhat, with how he tried to diffuse things when Tobias showed up at Hannibal's office. He did look to Hannibal a few times, but he was going right ahead with trying to calm Tobias himself, rather than deferring to the psychologist in the room! Too bad for him that he didn't have the right read on things though. I did enjoy Tobias, and it would have been cool to have him a little longer, but it was also great to see Hannibal in action!

Apparently catgut doesn't actually come from cats. It's from sheep, cows, even horses. Which makes sense, they would have much larger gut, and people would have much easier access to that. I thought it was called "cat" from cattle, but apparently, it's not certain, but probably from "kit" meaning fiddle, which has a similar origin to guitar! I love etymology, and especially so when it means cats aren't being hurt, I'm too much of a cat person for that!

Aaahhhhh that makes so much more sense!!! I thought it was literally cat 🐈 hahhaha

I live for those moments when we see Hannibal do his "thing". I wish Tobias was there for an extra episode or 2 just to see a different side of Hannibal. Franklin didn't stand a change, caught between 2 killers....poor guy.

I just remembered, when we first see Franklin in episode 1, Hannibal said he "needs to convince himself the the lion is not in the room, when it is he will know", and here he was with 2 lions, and he didn't know!
