This is the first episode of "Sherlock" I ever watched. I didn't have cable then, so I was surfing the small group of channels, and on PBS I saw something that reminded me of "Doctor Who" in its visual style. "Has Doctor Who returned to PBS?" I briefly wondered. (Most Americans discovered Doctor Who--beginning with the Fourth Doctor, the Elder you saw talking to Matt Smith at the end of the 50th, the Caretaker!--in the late '70s-early '80s on PBS stations on the weekends! It was so popular in some markets, DW companions were in local parade floats and locally-produced docs about the show were made and aired!) Then I vaguely remembered that the Who people were doing a show based on a character I never cared about. "Well, I'm really bored and there's nothing on TV, so I guess I'm stuck with this," I said. So I watched [the weekend re-run of a new episode of PBS' "Mystery", I later found out]. Hmmm....then I watched the next episode, the last one of Season 3. At the (unofficial?) end of the season, with that 3x3 ep, I was SHERLOCKED! That's how the obsession began! LOL!!!!
