Just a Brief Status Update (Patreon)

Hope your new year is going well!

It's been a bit eventful on my end. Discovered the back of my car got busted in the parking lot and the trunk latch destroyed (nothing worth stealing in there thankfully, still suspect someone backed into it and took off) right on the same day I got summoned for jury duty. Managed to get that pushed back by a few months since I had both a broken car and I'm working through a nasty virus right now. Not sure if it's COVID since the at-home tests say no, but I'm about to get checked out what it actually is about an hour after posting this. I'd usually have posted an update earlier than this but I've been in the "too sick to even look at my phone" kind of phase for the past while.

Anyways, the plan is still to do Dead Space followed by the Callisto Protocol, with Wrath of the Righteous likely after unless the System Shock remake blindsides me. I replayed the Dead Space trilogy over the Christmas season for a fun refresher, and it's captivating how well the first two games hold up and the third somehow seems even more rough than I remember. Though I've noticed a lot of how Callisto has remixed elements from across the entire trilogy for their own game, so I got a lot of outlining done for that video. It's actually really interesting seeing what Callisto tried to bridge over or remix, and why a good chunk of it doesn't work on a few levels. As for the Dead Space remake I still have no clue what to expect, but I'm hoping to be able to have a video out for launch if I manage to actually get a review code. These things are always up in the air especially with the more gigantic companies.
