My first convention was back in the 70s. I later had an intense relationship with a penpal I met through Analog magazine when I was 14. And now I am 67, and ended up flying to Las Vegas to meet a great author in person. I was SO thrilled when he recognized me, even though we had only had phone conversations, online chats and conversations on Facebook.

That is amazing! So glad you've had wonderful experiences and got to meet the author and they knew your face ❤️

Someone tried to insult Brad by saying his work reminded them of Heinlein. Would you be insulted if I said your work reminded me of Jenn Dolari or Crystal Frasier? ( Inspired me to get through some rough times of my own.)

Wow re: Heinlein! I might take offense to that too lol I am familiar with Jenn Dolari and Crystal Frasier and am not insulted at all. I need to dive more into their work. From what I have seen there is much to like.

I don't suppose you have read Heinlein's "I Will Fear No Evil"? It made me wonder if RAH might have a touch of Dysphoria. He certainly was ably to consider a lot of questions about gender and it's meanings, and how it might be fluid. Stranger In A Strange Land became a practical anthem for the 'hippie' generation.
