Hope your March is off to a lovely start! The apricot tree in the yard out front is already in bloom. Was so happy to see bees a'buzzin' 🌸🐝 What also makes me happy are the slogans Kelci's adds to t-shirts throughout the comic. Always brings out the personalities of the characters more and so many cool nods to other creators.

Youthful angst. I remember it so well. A lot of bonding,” we’re all in it together.”

Gwilym Williams

Can I ask you something about one of your old works: Dracula vs King Arthur. When you wrote it, had you heard or Sir Marrok, the werewolf who became on of Arthur’s knights?

Christian Beranek

Hiya! Thank you for asking. My brother mentioned him but we didn't want to put him in the story as we only had so many pages to work with. We did add 10 pages to the graphic novel to expand but Sir Marrok was not considered. Definitely an interesting and often overlooked part of the lore!

Gwilym Williams

Damn. I would’ve found that so fun if the vamps got ahead of themselves, only for Marrok to go all Wolf during the eclipse. I still like the story anyhow. Weirdly, it’s Lancelot I feel the most sorry for. At the end, I get the feeling, with Dracula dead, what ever darkness within him kind of gone. All that would be left would be disgust and self-loathing. I only hope Merlin could help.

Gwilym Williams

What was in the expanded version? I can’t find it

Christian Beranek

I feel the same way as you do! There were plans to create a Merlin and Lancelot story. Sadly sales weren’t there. We made a massive miscalculation making Dracula vs Capone as a follow-up and it completely tanked. We canceled it after one issue.

Christian Beranek

I’ll see if I can find the pages to share. It was mainly more action with the knights (particularly Lamorak) fighting the vampires.

Gwilym Williams

See, I would’ve done this. Dracula vs Robin Hood. With it later being revealed that Friar Tuck is in truth Merlin from before, with Lancelot having been working with him, still a vampire, in hopes redeeming himself. It would also be suggested that Robin Hood is a reincarnation of Arthur.

Christian Beranek

I would read that! Love how it all lines up with the timeline of England.

Gwilym Williams

If you ever though of bring it back, I’d read it.

Gwilym Williams

Would you be adverse if I attempted such an idea?

Christian Beranek

All of the characters are in the public domain. If you feel you have a unique take on a story featuring them you should go for it.
