Albert takes a sip from his beer bottle. Ally is listening intently while Danni is talking to Jim.

DANNI: So you got something new? 

JIM: Uh... I do. I think it’s my best work yet.

DANNI: You self-publishing it?

JIM: No... This feels too important to do on my own. I don’t think people know just how much time and energy goes into all of that.

Danni is lasered in. She wants this book! Jim is cautious.

DANNI: Well, we know. Pirate Cat can handle it.

JIM: But you guys aren’t that well known...

DANNI: Look: Comic book companies come and go. Most start off with a big splash then die a quick death. Hype isn’t built-to-last. We only choose a few books and promote the hell out of them. And at this moment we’re poised to make this happen.

Albert looks over at Ally. He knows he has to say something soon.

JIM: Right. I get that.

DANNI: We’re not whippersnappers anymore. And you can’t wait forever to make a move. If you decide to go with us you can count on us... Until the end.
