Yes, this is the first time I've ever used the word "bae" in one of my stories. But it's totally something Jolene would say. It's not language I'd personally use, but that's not the point. When writing a cast of different characters from various backgrounds it is important to keep in mind they have their own voices. They all can't sound the same. Even the use of a simple word such as "bae" provides useful information about the character. 

So, will "bae" stand the test of time and be incorporated into long-term everyday speak? Let me know what you think in the comments section below!
