One of my earlier compositions -- age 20? Very very simple chord progression with absolutely no lead work at all. If I was to do it all over again I'd probably record it with a more analog feel and add some bendy bluesy notes to give it a more disjointed vibe. Still, I don't hate it. I'm sharing it here, after all 🙂

Music and lyrics are by me. I played the guitar and sang. Sean Crowley played the bass and drums.

The lyrics are so 90s btw lol The one I cringe at, however, is "Body etched like a tribal tattoo". It was written during a time when getting ink was still super edgy. I don't think many people these days realize that tattoos back-in-the-day were actually kinda fringe and people treated you differently if you had them. Certain jobs wouldn't hire you. Nowadays they're fully accepted by society. We have progressed in many ways since then!

The track appears on a CD compilation called Howegrown. It was created to help promote a festival I played at.

Of all the bands listed Spilling Dew was the one many in our group of musicians in the area thought might break through to the big time. They put out independent release and that was it, sadly.

As for me, do I miss playing live? Yes. But I have enjoyed my hiatus away from the stage. I'd love to get out there and perform again one day. I'm not sure exactly when that will be. I imagine I'll just realize when it's time and do it.

The imagery that accompanies this post is from outside the Whitman Stafford House in Laurel Springs, NJ. I shot loads of footage there which I will be editing at some point in the future. You'll get to see the inside of the house and hear some details about its history.

Thank for supporting my Patreon! Much more on the way soon.
