I recorded this in 1996 as part of a ten song set. Seven of the tracks ended up being usable which is actually a pretty good ratio. Dirty Hands did get some radio play at colleges on the east coast.

In 1998 I had it remastered for a 4-song EP of which I'll discuss in more detail later. That's the version you hear here.

I played guitar and sang. Sean Crowley played bass. Stiv Gigbag was on drums, but that's not his real name. He requested to be known by that moniker and 23 years later I still think it's kinda funny.

As for the backing harmonies, I'd like to remember the guy's name! He was at the studio the day I was recording vocals and popped in to see what he could add to the mix. He really lifts the song up and I wish I could thank him again here properly.

It's amazing what mysteries we create for ourselves.

The GIF above is from a video I shot during my last drive up Hwy 14 from Albuquerque to Santa Fe. I can't express to you fully yet what I experienced that day. I might have to incorporate it into a story I have in development about the legends of mountains and memory, and the quest for power over domains...
