Validation 248 - 249 (Patreon)

Getting the gender marker changed on my passport was an arduous process and I was so happy once it was accomplished. It's up for renewal in 2025 but I might get it done before then in case we see an administration change in 2024. I'm very concerned about possible rollbacks in trans rights. 

As for Ricky Gervais, who is mentioned in #249, he is a complicated figure. I don't find his humor to be transphobic like I do with Dave Chappelle and other comedians. He's said some crass stuff, but he is first-and-foremost a humanist. If you look at the body of his work it shows that. He's more layered and nuanced than people give him credit for. But I do understand why many call him out on some of his comments. I never felt like he punched down on us like Chappelle does. His obsession with the trans community is a bit disturbing.
