My dear Family,

This was already shared on Instagram, but I wanted to explore the topic a bit further here.

Lately, the shorter days have been getting to me.My sleep rhythm is all over the place, and I seem to come alive more at night.Still, it feels as though the darkness stretches a little further than usual. It affects me, yet it’s also where my creative flow begins.Writing new songs with Father, planning upcoming videos and the next tour gives me a strange kind of peace, structure through chaos, purpose through creation. That’s what keeps me balanced when the world feels a little dimmer.

If you’ve been struggling with the same thing, feeling out of sync, low on energy, or just not yourself, please know it’s normal. The dark season can be tough, but it also reminds us to slow down, to reconnect, to find small lights where we can. 🖤

“If you feel like you are losing everything, remember that trees lose their leaves every year, yet they still stand tall and wait for better days to come.” 🌳

How are you coping at this time of year?

I love fall/winter and so does my wife. We come alive during this time of year and usually hide away in the heat of southern USA, which is extreme. I work outside so I'd rather layer up cause they frown on being in your birthday suit in public around here. 😄 keep ya head up! We love you, fam.

This season has been very difficult this year the loneliness and depression have been pretty bad along with my OCD. But I’m trying to keep my head above water and “fix” my issues by walking and not stay inside my head

The tree quote absolutely did me in. ❤️ It's crazy relevant, I've felt exactly that way this week. I lost my best friend and I'm struggling pretty hard.

I'm doing good so far, keeping up my health good. And totally understood what you wrote!

I am honestly not coping well. But I am suffering from severe depression all the time so I am just at the end of my rope. Usual for me at this point, though funnily enough my typical time to try (and unfortunately fail - I will get it right next time) to kill myself seems to be June.

I love this time of the year. I can't stand the heat in summer, so I am glad it's colder here now. As for my BPD it makes no difference what season of the year it is.

As a rule, I love this time of year but I have found the encroaching earlier nights quite draining, I'm constantly tired and sleeping more, but then Im looking at it as being an opportunity to look within and do some inner healing. Spend some solitary time concentrating on art and music and just try to get through the winter in a positive way. 🖤

Thank you for talking about this, all of you!

I was born near the Canadian border. It gets dark at 4 pm and the sun rises around 8:30 or 9. I'm still affected as well. They say it takes 1 month to adjust, but that's just something people say to get you out of your bed. Meanwhile, I still harbor the despair and isolation as the temps drop. "Just keep going. Just keep trying." Still, it's a lie i tell myself like so many other ones that they eventually become my narrative. However, my circadian rhythm prevents that particular lie from becoming true. Thank you, SKYND, for addressing this as this is just the beginning. Harbinger, soothesayer, peer of Seasonal Affective Disorder; your words carry weight with us. Thank you for sharing, truly. Your acknowledgement and how it effects you, makes this is relatable and comforting to know that we aren't alone. Even my little Min Pin is feeling his fun in the sun diminish.

Smart thinking, I envy the flocks of birds leaving before life is tested.

Yay, Carlos! I hope you're doing fantastic today!

Siobhan, I feel you. I'm there too, but we all are suffering various versions of are own. Still, please know we have different assignments to live through, but you are still here, and that is what matters. Your struggles aren't unnoticed.

On paper I love this time of year, autumn, spooky season, family time, long walks with the dogs. I just hate the dark mornings and how early in the evening it gets dark. It feels like most days when I get home after work, I just want to get straight into bed. I try and hold onto the different things I have planned with friends, upcoming gigs planned and I usually have a tattoo appointment booked by this time if year 🖤

I try to keep my head up! @SKYND thank you for your words. Perfectly on point..

I love this time of year, but I'm with you, the darker shorter days can be tough. I'm actually in a good place this fall. I really love the company I work for, and I can finally say I think I'm starting to feel comfortable and safe. I'm hosting a Hazbin Hotel Halloween watch party tomorrow. Tomorrow before my guests arrive I'm taking a quite little bubble bath to center myself. I wish you all a Happy Halloween, and a blessed Samhain!
