I am a Brit and didn't find out I was dyslexic until I started Uni at the age of 27 in 2004! It wasn't picked up before because school ignored me due to serious home issues and then I just did a load of art courses after. I could read though, it was hard but I could do it, it was the writing I found more difficult but I was able to avoid it mostly until I had to in Uni. I just think they portrayed it oddly in this show, it did come across more like he couldn't read than that he was dyslexic.

The writing just seems so out of touch. I can't believe they wrote this (almost) adult as someone who has had zero attention to the fact he might have dyslexia?? I think if we had a scene were he misread something, rather than a "I just can't read, at all" moment, that would have been more believable. I'd even have written it so that he HAD been diagnosed, but had left that off his application so he wouldn't be embarrassed by the accommodations in a new school, and just got in over his head without them. And we got that whole backstory about the film crew on his street in the first episode, but we couldn't get a similar revealing moment from his past about Not Being Able to Read?? baffling

The concept of students living together is not that weird to me. In Poland we have something called "bursa". It's rare, but it's basically a dormitory for high school students whose parents want to avoid the hustle with dropping off children at school each day or having them commute on their own. Now we have 4 years of high school, so people there could be anywhere from 14/15 to 18/19. I know one person who tried it, and decided that commuting for over an hour is better...

I used to be a teacher, and yeah the whole "can't read" thing really irked me. So many things wrong with it, a lot of it you pointed out. ESPECIALLY with the fact he got into the school somehow, that no one seems to have pointed this out to him before in his entire school life, and also the fucking t-shirts at the end. I concluded it as being a "means well" thing but really falling short (a bit like, "she uses they/them pronouns"). With the music theory as well (as I guess that was also meant to be a clue to the dyslexia), while yeah there's a few elements that involve writing words down depending on what syllabus they were using, there's a good portion of the dyslexic community who can still read musical notation fine. And it almost always doesn't affect whether you're able to memorise the notes in a melodic minor scale or play them by ear as that's a completely different set of skills (unless say you have poor motor skills to physically play it etc.).

I made it exactly 7mins 13seconds into this video before turning it off I’m so sorry gerls 😂 This show is so achingly atrocious I can’t watch it even with your reactions!! It’s not even a so bad it’s hilarious situation it’s just BAD and I knew I couldn’t survive over an hour if this! Oh I desperately hoped you would end this travesty after reacting to Episode 1 and would not be dealt another reaction to episode 2 😂 I’m heading to full of it podcasts to soothe my brain 😉😂
