Formerly known as Song for My Changing Suburb, this song has changed a TON over the last month! I wrote some lyrics, cleaned up the production and started trimming layers to make a more decisive piece!

I sped this track up a little, outside of standard tuning cause I thought it sounded kinda cool, but included the original speed in the attachments below! I'd love to know which version you prefer! (Sped up, or Original~)

I've been hitting the production lab– working on my mixing, composition and getting more comfortable with empty space.

I've been really inspired by Peace and Love by Dylan Brady and certain tracks by FROMTHEHEART ; they're both MEGA decisive works that accomplish with as little layers as possible. It's kind of the complete opposite of a lot of the MAXIMAL futurebass I grew up listening while still having the same punky syncopated essence, I adore it.

~~Lyrics~~

Verse

Modernized

Millimeters thin

For your modern eyes

Modernized

Your dreams haven’t caught up yet

Modernized

Bye to the small town vibe

Modernized

Our rents up 5 percent

Chorus

But I still dream in cathrode rays

I still dream of salad days

In closed cafes

It’s so Cliché

Verse 2

Modernized

boomer sensibility for a modern time

Modernized

Your dreams haven’t caught up yet

Chorus 2

But I still dream in cathrode rays

I still dream of rainy days

snowy glitter jpeg artifact

memories on display

Bridge (Fragments of Memories)

Your Emo Phase

bad cosplays

Through the fire and flames

The calendar days

when we first got laid

our afterglow haze

Let’s watch Lain

Briefly Explained

we’ll feel Galaxy Brain’d

Sharing the Mundane

it’s a time sink

Through the drain

Chorus

Your dreams haven’t caught up yet
