Heyo! Edit: This is not for suggesting parings. I want a single suggested class to a comment. The paring will be decided later by way of poll.

Oh hey, the title is different! What does it mean? It means I'm not accepting random prompts this time and instead I've got a prompt and I want you all to fill in the blanks. The prompt is "High Level Fight Between Two Nonstandard Classes". Note, when I say high level, I mean very skilled so archmage, not a level 100 mage. Also, when I say classes, I don't actually plan to use a "System" in the story, rather, that is just an easy way to explain what I want. And when I say Nonstandard, I mean if the class would be seen as one that is at least expected to be able to fight, I don't want it. This means saying archmage won't work, though you could be specific on what kind of magic said archmage is limited to.

The plan for the poll is that I will choose the more popular class suggestions, plus any I particularly like, and throwing them all into the poll (so more than three options, not that I technically ever limited the prompts to 3) and allowing people to vote multiple times. I of course can't stop you from voting for literally every options, but your more likely to get what you want if you limit the number you vote for.

Anyway, I hope to see some really creative nonstandard classes. Oh, and next month things will go back to normal. I just really wanted to give this a shot. Oh, and if you're going to make multiple suggestions, please limit it to five and post each suggestion as a new comment and not a reply to your previous suggestion. Also, while not a hard rule, I will try to collect suggestions from multiple people over just picking all five that Rory suggests.

I would like to read a fight between a master brewer, like alcohol, and a traveling merchant/peddler. I think it would be really interesting to see what you'd do with them

Rory

One class you could have could be Lawyer, i imagine youd have fun with that. (PS sorry for hogging all of the story prompts, i kinda have a list of them that i keep adding to, its become a hobby of mine)

Best of the world Jester and Bard in a fight between them and their bizarre skill/capacity throw to each other and/or buffing them when they encounter each other on the road or something like that and something silly start a death feud (or maybe they know each other for years and each time they encounter each other they fight and can be a draw (unconsicou or etc) or each other win in turn each time they meet so they don't agree on a final winner and best boy) Can end with them going "fist" fight and hammer each other face with their tool ("guitar" and item for juggle) when nothing work after exausting and countering each other mean and strange skill That can also be a "fight" between them to see who is better and the more/better buff or effect they can drop to each other or to a crow (in a tavern for example who observe them and say "oh" "ah" and comment on it and is entertainned :)

A simple Tank vs a scout/assasin/thief class in a dark environment can also be interesting, the assasin don't manage to pierce the defense of the tank and his reaction to his multiple varied attack and deception move, and the tank is paralized by the dark environment who block his ripost and can't really chase of the assasin and can only endure in the end and hope to catch him at some point, so they are in a statue quo and blocked each other and trying everything but miss each time with a big tension when 1 move or mistake can be the end of it but they can't just leave the fight or wait and turn their back to each other so they keep fighting and making their move

It is said that everyone can learn magic, and that is certainly the case at the Divine Emperor's College of Arcane Sciences. As an unlucky Shadow Scout for the Demon King found out first hand. For it seems despite being a near-invisible spirit of mist and shadow, it is simply another mess for the Janitor to clean up. Shadow Scout (ethereal demon with shadow magic and immunity to normal weapons) vs Arcane Janitor First Class (wash away the filth with the might of the arcane!)

Lawyer vs jester. Both are fighting through social means, but it's all about the momentum. The lawyer tries to shift things towards serious and formal, while jester tries towards silly

This is for non-combat classes, as in classes that don't fight. Also, I'm not looking for pairings, but rather singular class suggestions, one to a comment. You can make up to five suggestions, but they need to be as individual comments and not replies.

This isn't the post to decide pairings, just the classes. You can make up to five suggestions, but they need to be in separate comments and not as replies to other comments.

How about an accountant that has gotten into taming anteaters for a hobby? Nobody would ever expect someone like that to fight, even if they happened to insist they were a 'lion' tamer.

Andrew Meyers

Or something really silly like a farming supplies vendor, who happens to specialize in manure. A real shit-thrower, who can make literal shit-storms.

Andrew Meyers

Could also be a seamstress, throwing needles and thread and fabric to bind, impale, and cut.

Andrew Meyers

Or even a fishmonger, hurling fish and his processing tools and fish parts. Definitely not a combat class, but could hold his own against rowdy customers.

Carl Mason

Non standard classes? We talking Bricklayer, Stone Mason, Sculptor type stuff or more along the lines of Beggar, Thief-king, Actor type stuff? Having a site scuffle between a Carpenter and a Stone -Mason/Bricklayer would be fun. Just any unexpected combatant?

The Absorber

Ok some other classes that might be fun would be a butler, a professor, or maybe a gardener.

Carl Mason

Clerk/Scribe/Office-Worker

Carl Mason

Delivery/Postman/Courier

Stormcaller

wayfarer (so high level teleport specialist (non-combat) mage)

Sean Quinn

seamstress vs. leatherworker

Sean Quinn

mad cobbler vs. mad hatter

Stormcaller

@Sean Quinn -- its name a class per line, not a match up
