This is my favorite episode of the series so far. There are still so many episodes that are better in other ways even this season but this will always be my favorite. Subaru never saying goodbye before he was teleported hits me every time. This isn't spoilers it was answered in a Q&A from the author. From Q&A Q: Now that their eldest son Subaru has been summoned to another world, what’s the situation in the Natsuki household? They seem like a couple that it wouldn’t be too surprising if they chased after him to the other world. A: They’re enduring the disappearance of their eldest son somehow or other. The police investigation has no leads, and Kenichi is trying to comfort Naoko but it’s not that effective. They’re passing each day tearfully.

In another Q&A the author stated that if Subaru was never brought to another world, his parents would've pulled him out of his depression. He would've went to college and married a girl with a heart similar to Rem. Basically his life would've been way better 😭

Everytime I think that Subaru is being a baby or that he should just abuse his return by death. I always think back to this episode and gotta remember that he's still this kid. The kid that was too scared to go to school because he couldn't fit in, the kid that was loved by his parents. This show makes me sad as shit bruh 😭
