I'm sure someone has mentioned it already but the Hajime no Ippo manga is still ongoing and is actually a lot longer then One Piece lol. With Ippo having 1509 chapters and One Piece having 1167 chapters. With that said do you think you'll ever read the manga?

That’s insane! As of now I don’t plan to read the manga in hopes that a new season gets announced.

I think what last 3 episodes tried to convey is why coach was so happy to take on training Ippo. He lived through his life studying boxing, admiring the technique, trying to learn it all and teach, but what really got him through is pure grit.As he won against Anderson without any technique, just resolve. And he saw it in Ippo, just pure fighting spirit, will to never give up, no matter how talented or skillful he is. That's why he decided to train Ippo completely different from Takamura. Takamura needed to be calmed down with drilling basic techniques into him over and over, but for Ippo he only gave him weapons of mass destruction

Well said! He definitely was lucky to come across a talent like takamura and even luckier that Ippo was brought to the gym by takamura. I find myself wanting see chief’s transition into coaching so much now because you can definitely tell from these last 4 episodes he was true student of the sport.
