I just wanna highlight Sawamuras stats in this game real quick...he had 9 innings pitched, 3 hits, 0 EARNED RUNS (because the 1 run was off an error so it doesnt count in Eijuns stats), 0 base on balls (aka. walks from balls) and 8 strikeouts.... thats my ace 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Don't know if you noticed this Lax but Miyuki pep-talking Eijun around the 8:43 mark, saying "let's slay us a monster", and "Partner" was a callback to the first episode when Eijun pitched against Azuma

One of my favorite details from this episode is how different the hit by pitch feels compared to the one vs Inashiro way back when. The one vs Inashiro was simply the moment being too big for Eijun at the time, nerves got the better of him, and especially hitting the guy in the head made it so much worse. This time it was strictly a execution error, which happens to the best pitchers all the time. He just didnt put enough, if any break on his cutter so it hit the guy in the thigh. Miyuki being able to calm him down and not let him spiral is also such a valuable trait to have in a catcher. Dynamic duo those two

You are really hard on players trying to battle mental struggles lol cheering right after giving up 2 runs no one does that not even Eijun give hima second to be sad! xD Edit: I saw someone mention the callback to the "partner" thing, but I wanted to reiterate that to Eijun that was a big part of the reason why he always wanted to pitch to Miyuki. But since that very first time in the past two years Miyuki has never called him partner again, until this moment. It was really big for Eijun and successfully got him out of his head about the hit-by-pitch instantly. Such a cool callback!
