Pretty sure Rudeus was referring to his brother(s) in his past life, not in his current life. He does refer to himself as the "eldest son" though, since he is the one and only son of Paul, making him the eldest.

Yeah the way he acts shows his lack of experience in life when it comes to socialising and relationships as a whole since he was a shut in as well as his biggest flaws which you can see in his behaviour and can make the early episodes a hard watch at times. He gets A LOT better as a character and so does the show as a whole can't wait for you to catch up to the latest episodes, peace
