I made a little gif to show the step by step of how I usually paint faces. Sometimes it takes a while to get it to where I want, especially when I'm painting my own characters.

I used anatomy360 for the reference, since I can create my own lighting in it! (ALSO I LOVE THIS PROGRAM) Doing this quick study really taught me how rim lighting can make such a big difference. It is such an easy way to cheat lighting too, just put it along the edge of the form facing the light and--!

Instantly everything looks cooler. 🤗

I decided to censor the full version (attached below) because it is less about the nudity and more Freya's physique.  I always try to convey through my drawings that she is one of the tallest and strongest, since she has to be the tank of the story.  Natasha Aughey has been the main reference for her body type, except Freya has a softer overall musculature and is just...really thick. Big upper and lower half, narrow middle.

The design of the protective spell tattooed onto her neck is not 100% yet, but I do want it to wrap around the front and dip between her collarbone. Maybe disappear under her hairline in the back. This marking is really important to her character, given by her mage sister as a child, it helps to keep her immune from the diseases long enough to escape the castle.  It is also what draws Greenbrier to her, and explains the fierce loyalty she had for her sister and the Queen, who were both powerful mages. She has a great love for them and magic in general, and wears the spell with pride.
