It feels like I make this post every couple of months lol. Clothing continues to be one of the most frustrating things for me to learn how to draw and design. I don't have an eye for details or color palettes that aren't muted, but I'm trying to be more adventurous in my designs lately!

I keep coming back to the green jacket and blush-colored skirt on Erie, and I even tried an all-black riding habit as it's the most historically accurate, but it just didn't suit her.

The same goes for Cassidy, except these don't feel right either. I do really like the mustard yellow, I'm just not sure if I like it on her. I decided to give her pointed cowboy boots and two-toned saddle pants, and I think tucking the pants into the boots helped to bring more interest to her triangular silhouette.

I also redrew the initial sketch of Tierney and gave him a long fur coat that would frame his head (and lack thereof) better. He probably keeps the bone lasso wrapped around his chest when he isn't using it.

And a few clothing studies I did recently that I'm pretty proud of! Folds are getting easier to paint.  Credit goes to mjranum-stock for the reference.

Clothing folds are hard for me too so I appreciate this!
