Hello friends,

A simple poll, but one I realize we've never actually done before: what CLASS do you primarily play as? (There's no way this ends up as a near-perfect 20% split, right?)

Tell me about your bespoke power setups in the comments! I love building hybrid setups with powers from multiple different classes.

officercat

My main character i run with a high aggro high defense build with heavy single damage magic and two handed while relying on support Ryn and magic Brienne to back it up

Gren

I started as a warrior and while I've tried everyother class, I still feel drawn back to the warrior life. That being said, the skills tend to cross class even into the caster classes. I just like that fantasy of being a "normal" person who, through effort and planning, manage to defeat these wizards, monsters, and demons alongside my much more special friends.

Nora Knox

Black Mage for the fun abilities and interactions Charmer for when it's time to remember it's a porn game so playing the horny elf bard is mandatory Stack a focused element for themes like all fire or all lightning on mage. Or use summons. Even funnier is using lust attacks and then just not having sex with them when I win, leaving them frustrated >:]

MeteorCat07

Something something Martial supperiority lol Jokes aside I usually play as a melee class~

Degen-a-rat

Right now I'm playing a thief with alot of black mage spells so I can get a spell blade vibe.

Maravedis

Black Mage. I really like playing as the charmer, but SO MANY enemies are immune to tease damages, it kind of frustrated me.

The Real Cheese

I tend to do 2 characters A mostly dominant male warrior thats my straight shot good guy and a Born slut gives all takes all Mage with charmer parts

Pbc98

Most times its warrior with white mage spells for a paladin esc build

Andara

I usually run a black mage/charmer style build with nonstop tease spells unless I gotta aoe the area to rubble.

Paladin of debauchery

Usually I start as a warrior and around mid game switch to a high strength white mage so I can role-play as a Paladin Usually using ashbringer or the dawnblade with a shield

Limitless

Charmer with Black Mage parts. I haven't started a new character in IRL years so tbh the whole build's jank as heck but I like the enchantress who can set you on fire type of beat.

Dancreas

I typically start as whatever I think my character would be and then invest stat points freely and get trained by NPC's. I usually end up with a hybrid class that feels as personalized as possible for the playthrough.

Pally Ganker

I balance Black mage and warrior.

diago dragon

Black mage, and i just use heavy hitting aoe spells or massive single target ones, i have my two party members cover any other weaknesses

NoxXFuta

I started as a black mage and stil stay with it bc of soul arrow n Vitality Reap

linkiplier

I generally run a charmer setup with some magic spells. My at will is a party buff and my 2 recharges are mass attacks targeting all enemies. And my encounter is a summon of whoever i currently want. I use ashlander as my weapon

Radgard Delgatti

I tend to start as Thief but I won't lie I tend to beeline for the Mirror powers, The Summon spells, and Zo ASAP. It all works out tho since Assassinate is the perfect "I don't wanna fight this person specifically" tool imo.

Wizardmon

I play a thief that has as much crit chance as possible. I think in combat I have 80+ crit chance thanks to equipment and equanimity skill. Using the songstress blade and I have some random abilities for flavor, like keldors song and rime veil

Tiredbuthere

I am a basic man I see warrior I go warrior

Magus

I run as close to a pure Summoner build as I can get: Black Mage, Elosa on my Encounter power, Empower Summons on Recharge. My second Recharge spell is Cryostatic Arc and my At-Will is Twisted Pyre, just for the debuffs. And then of course Abjure as my ult. For companions, I have Brienne in her vanilla set and Azzy in her Lightbearer set, for tanking and keeping aggro off me. I know there are probably balance concerns, but it’d be pretty cool to see an Ultimate-grade summoning spell one day, or potentially a second Recharge or At-Will spell that’s relevant for summoners and can work alongside Empower. Maybe a summon-only heal or something for the Recharge, and an attack based on the summon’s stats for the At-Will?

S-267

I play a white mage with either black mage fire spells or fox fire. Then I use a “borrowed” naginata to poke enemies at a distance.

ShadowSpark

I play a typically play an elemental spell blade of BM + War while having my party be tanks so I can bust out damage

Patch

My Champ is a Black Mage spell blade. Favorite build for any game is the mix up of might and magic. Main crew is Cait and Anora.

Heartfeltcurse

I generally run Black mage or charmer or a mix of the two. I tried running a theif recently and felt kinda underpowered? Not sure if that was just me playing it badly or not having good party coverage or what.

Valk

i would have thought there would be more white mage based paladin types, all things considered

Dancreas

I remember making a charmer+white mage build that also used kitsune skills. The setup was to buff normal attacks over and over until they did, like, 200+ damage every time. Needless to say, I think you guys have a great system and I truly enjoy making a new character every time.

Shatol Darmelo

Current build is a warrior spellblade. At level 6 am using Furious Strike or Heal for at-will, then Cleave, War Cry, Roaring Storm, Unbreakable. I just like having wide spanning damage to quickly clear groups, while being built tanky. (Stats are all put into strength, willpower and toughness, with all chargen points going to toughness) I normally build more regen and overall tanky style powers, but vibewise it's pretty much the same style as my main build

Cam the Viking

I start off as a Charmer and sometimes I rarely switch to warrior or one of the mages. It depends on th companions I bring.

Grim Kitsune

Usually start off as a Charmer for the Presence start, then swap to Black or White Mage depending on the character I’m going for, tho I also tend to like summoning.

Cleo M

scaldic cadence warriors singing and bonking and that's just in the bedroom

Aickavon

you start with a support off rip so I assume that is why it is the least played

Aickavon

Honestly the lack of white mage makes sense, our favorite catgirl starts off with all the things we'd need out of a white mage pretty early on and she's basically free and right there. You can always class into some white mage stuff for paladin builds, but starting off as a fighter helps ease the transition. I don't know how to really remedy this since it's a minor detail/problem (even if it's a problem? Probably not), outside of adding a choice between starting companions or her starting class but the prior one sounds like a lot of extra content, coding, and bugs XD

Talista

White mage warrior is high threat heal tank.

Kuki-Shift

different class starts that tend to evolve toward debuff thief in the end. Will use any power or spell that applies debuffs for maximum annoyance. Current champ is a dual wield debuff thief using Flash Fire for the burning and blind debuffs and aoe skills to apply Bleed to everyone before weapon swapping to rip them to shreds \o/

ScarredFang

There are other classes that are just as simple to play as warrior?

Olshady

Tanky thief that bursts down single targets with multiple hit attacks and extremely high crit rate. I get the stance for higher crit from monk waifu.

Big_Red121

I started all my characters as warriors then recently changed to a black mage

Danielle

I always use thief then get damage spell from black mage

La Loge de l'oeil

Started with black mage, then went for thief. Now I most consistently run Charmer, but with a mixture of spells from B-W-C an even some Warrior techniques (an a few stolen ones). Honestly there’s just so many cool and versatile builds to be made with the system!

alcett

I can't resist going sword and board melee charmer, who tries to hold threat and buff their party. I imagine like armored skald singing out tales of legends to bolster their party and demoralize the enemy. Kind of like a chanter in Pillars of Eternity. Can't really get it to work on hard mode, alas, I think it's stretching the character too thin.

Magnus Draconis

Usually start Black Mage and add either charmer or thief.

Wolfram

I'm about evenly split since I do lots of Champs with different roleplaying and gameplay focuses (one of each Mage, two of everything else so far) but my 'main' Champ is a Warrior that does a mix of Leadership buffing and hitting things with a mix of White Mage and Valkyrie powers. Not optimized, but fun.

inkaral

I usually do Warrior. Though, what *kind* of warrior varies widely. I've done sword-n-board heavy armor, I've done magic swordsman in light armor, two handed heavy armor smasher, and (currently) dual wielding light armored plus magic n the silver mask stances. Refreshing the Kitsune shop's inventory to be able to buy two Balanced Blades helps a lot!

mikeg123445

I play Warrior because unga bunga smash things is fun but I usually end up as more of a Paladin since I have healing spells on it as well. I also play Black Mage too because magic go brrr.

Rasuzal

I'm big into thief, though I have to admit it's more for roleplay than anything else. I adore the idea of a slumrat thief champ that nonetheless works to uphold the peace and good. Dual wielding tends to be my go-to, especially with some high crit and blue flame blade.

Innyx

I end up always going Black Mage or Warrior due to the sheer quantity and available of unique armors, weapons, and accessories. Very thankful and appreciative how every party member has so many distinct subclasses to round out the roster now.

JEG

No one plays thief? Sadge

Roan

Warrior with some Willpower for a Paladin build, and Black Mage or Charmer for a Pyromancer build

Blood Raven

I decided to roleplay an OC I had and she's primarily a fighter (Samurai specifically) as my primary class. But I've sorta changed her class to a Black Warrior poison charmer, bypassing armor with lust attacks and bypassing lust resistence with beating them over the head with a Carenbot (Or lust whip and lust shield).

LakyDW

Mostly I play Warrior, but by the mid/late game I usually switch to a hybrid build, something like: Self-healer Warrior: Dawnsword plus, for example, Bark Skin and War Banner (you can vary this with White Magic). With a couple of self-heal items like Mare’s Ring, you become almost invincible, so solo play is easy. Spell Knight: I mostly focus on Storm magic, because mages get a really strong Encounter at level 2, but sometimes I also focus on Fire magic, especially if I’m using the Pyromancer Set and Flames Within. One time, I tried a Monk build focused on STR/CUNNING, with TOUGHNESS and AGI split about evenly, concentrating on light gear with crit stats and/or +physical damage (The hardest part was putting together an optimal skill build, so I kept running from Jin-Jin to Zo, then to others or got some spells by using Mirror Stance, but it was fun build nonetheless). In one run, I tried to push my stats as high as possible, and by the finale I ended up with: 25 STR / 24 AGI / 26 WILL / 24 TOUGH / 9 CUNNING / 23 PRESENCE, but I honestly don’t remember what my final goal for that stat-pushing (it was a secondary objective) run was. Anyway I’d really love to see some new things or improvements to ranged weapons and builds someday. I’ve tried a few ranged-focused builds, but they felt meh compared to hybrids or even compared to vanilla Warrior/Mage/Rogue builds. In some aspects it’s strong, but most of the time you just don’t have enough DPS (If you make hybrid with Rogue or B.Mage, then it's +/- ok). Maybe it would work well as a support build, but I’m not sure, like the others could do it better too (Or maybe I just didn’t build it right)

kumori

i usually prefer black mage while mixing in thief skills, especially those with obscurement.i find it makes some good synergy.though im also partial to mixing black mage for summons and charmer for buffs support.

Connor Kelly

Depends usually if im male pure dps warrior. Though my oldest save was a cartgirl thief with a Lotta crit and silencing for mages. Though on that run I've gone full send corruption and tend to just fuck my way outta most encounters, and assassinate the rest. Def wanna try some new styles, but i love using transformatives and tend to be the kind of hoe I could never be irl.

Teramoix The Terrible

Usually I play as a warrior, but I'll level int and mix it with magic and play as either a paladin tank or spellsword dps

Cryo24

Warrior all in on deflection, with willpower to make use of sorran chant and lunar aegis

shark _

A summoner who plays like a warrior black mage. I just use the summon spells and a healer in my party to just get threw bosses with quantity of attacks rather then landing big spells.

Michael Vaccaro

I run several builds exploring all of the potentials. Currently I have Black mage male elf using mirror stance and have just about collected most of the skills. I don't play on just one class as I like to shift around depending on how I want to play in any given session. Although If I may suggest an option. Because of the depth of skills I currently possess in this build It would be nice to have the ability to just jump to the latest acquired skill in the list rather than having to scroll through the entire list to get to the latest acquisitions.

Ein

I pretty much exclusively run Black Mage with Flames Within and Searing Arc as my primary abilities. I like to keep a stance in my at-will slot - usually a fighter or thief one - with one of the lesser smite spells in my other recharge. My party members are typically Brint and Ryn for tank and support respectively.

wb

Crit build warrior, either dual wielding dawnsword/ chrysalis petal or more recently two handing the songstress' blade

Shut up Wesley!

The Thief ability that doubles the duration of negative status effects is basically a required perk given the wonky way turn order seems to operate. If you have any combos that rely on a status this is about the only way to pull them off. It also ensures that enemies with multiple turns are hamstrung by debuffs. Even when I play as a Mage I do so as Thief class.

Sully

Black Mage for the ley lines and triple flare...

Shut up Wesley!

Honestly there should be some way to mix and match some perks. I wouldn't even be mad if I had to level classes separately from character level a la Final Fantasy Tactics. Basically at certain levels have a slot open up to allow the PC to take a perk from another class and throw it. This would be useful for making the informal "prestige" classes like Spell Sword or Paladin possible.

Girlyvader

Honestly, if I could I would literally just make CaitPC and use her builds, they're exactly what I wanted to make for each of those roles when I first saw the class descriptions.

greyfox643

Thief. I enjoy making a spellblade on the Thief skeleton. I always go for thr Dawnvlade, as deflection is my primary means of not dying.

greyfox643

And boy howdy, making debunks last longer is so clutch for Dark Mode

Malice

If Thief for obscurement skills to spam sneak attack. shadow strike, deadly shadow, mark for death, shell cracker and assassinate. Every high high crit item i can get, along with base Cait and Warrior queen Ethryn for just a wall of HP and healing to let me just safely open with deadly shadow, sneak attack then cycle shadow strike, sneak attack. mark for death, shell cracker, back to shadow strike and sneak attack then cycle it all again. Putting everything into basic stats of agility cunning and presence. If black mage, we RIDE THE LIGHTING! Roaring storm, arc cannon, lighting spike and all the spellpower and spell pen i can get. Still using Base cait and WQ ethyrn cause those 2 just can't go down like at all.

Miner49er201 .

I started as Warrior when first playing, but drawing too much aggro can get you killed; and since it’s a lose state when you alone go down instead of the whole party, I switched to Thief and just let Brint/Brienne or Atugia do the tanking instead.

Maixis

I go Black Mage now that that Berwyn can't be in my travel group :(... Before that I almost always made a character as a theif

Dyamonde

i usually play white mage with focus on a summon

Daniel M

Warrior with hunter background and ranged build.

behelitruler

paladin. warrior with some white mage abilities for extra survivability

RenegadeOfMeyrin

White mage / Warrior hybrid. I always enjoy the classic stories of forbidden love and redemption. So smiting and fucking my way across the land in pursuit of redeeming that gorgeous, thicc, emotionally complex bundle of demonic love. Is just poetry in motion for me.

JEG

Love the thief flavor texture etc. And the cheese you can do with heavy weapons that are "throwable"

Ciaran Chatwin

Sorcerer Bard - Charmer with Black Mage mixed in.

shotgunshells

Warrior. I just love being the person in front smacking people down with a big weapon. I always get enough regen and armor that pulling aggro is never a problem.

Shiroo Sakkaku

Warrior and Cait on Hexblade my beloved combo... That stuff just obliterates nearly everything, it's so funny. Cait literally one-shot one phase of The Demon of Ice (to not name names) and I didn't even realize it had happened until I went to click on my next move

Soldarlo

White mage paladin, best combo for the heavy armor, wham bam, thank you ma'am.

Lupusvir

I play Warrior since it's the closest I can get to a Monk class. I combine it with some thief stuff to better get the feeling. I would prefer there to be a Monk class though.

Charles M. Sauerland

Black mage/charmer for a summoner support, usually keep lightning spike for some aoe cleanup. Also makes most 1v1 fights trivial, even without ult

Kevin Daley

I alwase start off as a pure worrier for about 3ish levels then switch roles later on once I get some points and skills in. Makes the start easier when I can just straight tank. Hybrid it’s a paladin build with a summons. 1 summons to add a another meat shield or heals, 1 general group heal for harder fights and the rest I fill in with what I feel like using at that given time

Softpaw

Black and White mage. Honestly never play anything else, Black mage for my "corrupt" characters and White mate for my good characters, usually because they are planning on becoming valks and i think being a white mage goes well with that. but well im pretty much playing mage/healer/sorcerer in any game i get the chance. Its just my preferred fantasy class.

James Morningstar

Warrior, thief combo. Usually play as an orc, use the benefits of the damage boost perk for warriors while leveraging thief, and archer skills to feel like a ranger sniping their target from a distance.

Las K

Usually play as an Orc Warrior or a Human Charmer

Jemeth

My favourite is white mage, usually build as a Paladin like Tank with heals, buffs and magic damage, no strength though

Jemeth

Would love that too, especially for the Veteran perk. Taking Warrior only to not be so damn slowed down by heavy equipment feels not fun, when your build would work better with another class

Jemeth

Aside from the prologue, you can talk to Cait about "other talents", unlocking a dancer Set for her that focuses on tease and a bit Support. Works well, especially against horny demons.

OrzoSavo

Black Mage support summoner.

Mors

the amount of times that ive died because my party didnt heal me is far too high to count, so ive decided to do it myself. White mage for greater heal, group heal, smite and a summon has allowed me to get through the game on 'dark' for most of the game.

Tyler Petty

for me i do mix in between a warrior and black mage for an corrupted playthrough and warrior again with an white mage for a paladin or pure playthrough. usely all the armors and weapons make up the class you play so i time goes on i know more weapons and armor will be added to give classes and needed boost and reason to play them. as for races for my corrupted playthrough in the late game i become an dragon and choose the corrupted path with my transformations and for the pure path i choose wyde elf at first then later on become an boreal elf close to the mid to late game then either choosing become an champion to luima or stay as you are. my compions is depending on the situation as story ill bring them for the plot. as for everything else mage that heals , and dps witch is you or any other party, and an tank witch again is you or any other. so typically an dnd team.

STRWBRY

I typically build a warrior with some thief dip, or a hybrid paladin. Ever since the full release of the Songstress Blade, I cannot resist building a cunning-focused warrior with some of the single target critical boosting options provided by Thief!

Endac

My go to when I first started CoC 2 was an archer Charmer, but after falling in love with Ryn and Quint's characters, I've been consistently building a hybrid paladin warrior/white mage, which gives more weight to stay sword and board for the Dawnsword later on. (#Rynbestgirl)

TumblRefugee

High presence warrior with summons.

Bomber Ted

Strength/Toughness/Willpower White Mage with heavy armor. A Paladin, in other words.

ChrisE

I like to see my character as an archer/ranger, so I'm typically always a thief class using a bow, and a mix of skills that are physical ranged, defense, or a couple heavy hitting thief ones that I imagine doing as ranged (currently Tranquility, Sure Shot, Fan of Blades, Dastardly Trick & Assassinate) Its amusing though odd when it comes to victory scenes referring to clubbing people over the head/etc.. with my bow since they assume your using any kind of weapon other then a bow.

Gituku

I tend to bounce between warrior, black mage, and thief. Teasing my enemies isn't as appealing to me personally as beating them into submission, nor is playing a more support role. I also really like the multiple weapon styles offered by the warrior. Kinda wish there were more skills to be found in the world for the classes though. Secret trainers and the like to teach a skill or two more, offer more variety.

Kevin Daley

I only use manual control unless I’m going into a truly hard fight. Keeps it simple

Rhydec

Warrior, with a healing spell and ranged attack powers

Brendan Richardi

Thief using all ranged skills and a bow as a psuedo ranger.

CryoPhoenix92

I'm currently playing a Valkyrie Thief, using Sunstrike and Celestial Form together with Shadow Strike, Dastardly Trick and Assassinate. Wielding Dawnsword and Wing of Asira.

Shut up Wesley!

Exactly the perk that comes to my mind too. Making a "Paladin" type more or less feels like a requirement for it. Same way I feel for the Thief with regard to the Eye for Weakness and being a caster. Lots of spells with ancillary effects that would benefit from it. Especially since some of the other Black Mage perks may not be as great for any build but a blaster or a summoner. And the truth is Black Mage doesn't hit as hard as a dual weapon Thief or Warrior who are fiends in output. So I would like to make a "controller" Blk mage.

X

I like thief the most. Companions handle tanking or healing well enough on Dark. When it comes to dealing damage, I like the interactions thief perks bring to the table. Like, even being a pure mage is fun on a thief with the double status perk. Thematically, I like playing a scholarly character who's magical capabilities start small and potentially grow after the initial events. Thief fits that a bit better to me than warrior.

Foncible

I play a White Mage but it's usually a spellblade with AoE and single target damage skills.

Zero

I mainly play a Crit based White Mage, utilizing Equanimity and Blessing to hit REALLY hard. It’s weird, but it works

Dutchman3201

I enjoy playing a Charmer support with manual control on the combat state, using buffs to stack on my companions to do big damage and debuffs on the enemies to slow them down. It's hard not to bring a summon for that lovely action economy!

Jamie Diefenderfer

I'm pretty much always a summoner. I just love companions lol

Gabriel

My main is a warrior with great heal. Charmer bimbo sex goddess is a power strat tho. She clears everything in one round

Ozbourne Cat

I play a thief (usually Kitsune) On the highest difficulty some encounters have enemies with serious healing output, so I use a trident with whirlwind to stack bleed consistently To supplement my own poor damage output I use the pyromancer set and build presence instead of attack for a better summon and access to support charms and spells Power Cadence is my at will to buff team damage, Frost moth is my preferred summon to help support my team's elemental damage dealers (usually Ryn on the glacial guard set, I really hope that set gets new art) stacking it's debuff with Kiyoko's, celestial smite to to for storm/holy coverage, and Inspiration for a second wind for the team that doesn't really care about stats (since I can't always run a healer like Queen's Raiment Ryn due to other tanks just not being up to the same level of stickiness as Glacial Guard) I really want a party member with shielding smite and the charmer passive that gives 2x buff duration, but that would probably disrupt the game balance a bit

Saul Aura Fox

I play a thief for the most part. I use it as a base for a spell blade attacker. Using low cool down moves with debuffs like Ray of Frost or Driving thrust with Eye for Weakness to double the debuff duration to abuse Twist the Knife. I also stack a lot of crit so I can have blue flame blade proc the burning debuff as well.

zena chan

I play as a charmer summoner and buff my party to do the damage

K_D Lawrence

I play white mage and make my character a paladin.

Imperial Kishin

I haven't found a reason to multiclass yet (except Black/White Mage) due to items and skills not synergizing. I had to multiclass into white mage for a solo-only test run because of healing. The next test was a successful solo white mage.

drossbots

I prefer Black Mage. I'm surprised thief is so low, that perk that doubles debuffs is crazy. I guess most people aren't sweaty optimizers like me though

Rexburgatory Yt

My one character is a Super Buff Male Orc Charmer. so thats all ive got
