Content

Tychris continues its rollout with a big chunk of additional content, featuring a former evil witch with unforgettable... talents.

Check out the patch notes here!

Now we've caught up with all the content I've personally finished writing for the area, but there's several NPCs by staff and community members coming down the pipe that should hold you over while I continue working on the captain of the Order Astrida and, then, the resolution for Kythie's little problem.

All the special skills you can learn from Ynes are showing up as the same spell "Deflagrating Touch"... So now I have multiple copies of the same spell... 😵

Shut up Wesley!

On the topic of physical/mental/magical defenses, am I the only one that doesn't feel their impact much? Or even normal evasion. It feels like you have to pump them to pretty unreasonable levels to have them factor into your defensive plan. You're much better off building armor and the various resistances and just assuming you're gonna take that stun or whatever. Hence why I feel Warrior is really consistent and strong whereas other classes feel swingy in terms of just getting randomly bodied by bad luck.

Will there be any kind of caged content? Like may be option to use Ryn Cage on urself and start her dominant rout or just bunch of special interactions with other characters?

Corruption of Champions

Every. Single. Encounter. in the entire game would need to be rewritten to accommodate the cage, or at the VERY least have its code edited to just lock you out of *doing* anything. And that's before dedicating all the time required to actually make that a worthwhile trade for the player in terms of new content to support it.

I can say that on Dark, Warrior is certainly the best and as you said, most consistently performing class. Especially if you play a two-hander or dual-wield hard encounters tend to be DPS races. Has a very good defense perk, has very strong offense. The last main story dungeon is a very good build-check on Dark, and it is a lot easier to come up with a Warrior variation that passes, than virtually any other for me. I do not think that there is an easy fix, per say. Generally the issue is that your want your main character to be damage dealer (because that is the thing you can most optimise for with your build freedom), which means high threat generation. So it makes sense for them to be also tanky, because the threat comes naturally. One of the two companions can be a healer (an extra turn or two alive means a lot, funnily enough the rework made our beloved harpy more fun, but her old heal was more brutal if she was used for literally a single ability), the final one is another dps of a complementary sort (pyro Brienne is not a bad pick for warrior imho to just name a personal favorite). In other words, the way the game currently looks like both from encounter design, how damage and threat works plus party compositions, warrior more or less has it in the bag. With different flavors ofc, but "fairly tanky MC who deals a lot of damage" seems to be the current way to go. Thief feels like a variation of this, and a "paladin" white mage sadly has a dud healing hands perk for this kind of a character. That being said, I think there is -very few- people who care much about Dark difficulty level build variety. This coupled with my bloated elaboration above on why I do not think there is an easy fix, realistically I do not really expect this to be changed. It would take a lot of work, mess up existing save files (probably the largest issue tbh. but likely unavoidable if you would want to fix this) and all of that would be aimed to please a small fraction of the players. Contrasting it with the charmer rework which was necessary in my opinion, and how that too got pushback regardless, kind of underlines this point for me.

I'm speaking mostly from a normal mode perspective but that is mostly itself a result of what you point out. I would be more apt to try the harder difficulty if I felt less pigeon holed. Even in normal difficulty some encounters can feel over-tuned or luck based and that feels kinda bad. I THINK it comes from the way defenses might work. It might also be the way combat is reported. Maybe I dodge and resist more than I realize but as it stands I basically never see the impact of these defenses which are favored by the other classes. And yeah none if the companions are suitable tanks which furthers the issue for sure. Trying to run a Thief and minimize your threat is a great way to get your companions focused and obliterated. I think we will agree Warrior perks are the big decider because all other avenues of power available to the player are universal. Veteran alone is surprisingly impactful but was probably not seen as such when they first started designing.

Will there be any item added that will allow lowering of the max semen amount in the balls? Since there is the Wandering Orc's item that increases it but nothing to also lower it. Currently it seems you can only reduce ball size but that just revers back and does little since the semen amount can far exceed the ball size, and production speed does not really make any difference either.
