POLL ETIQUETTE REMINDER (Patreon)
Content
Happy Friday, everyone!
The past month or so I've been noticing a trend where the poll results are being forcibly tied. At first I was willing to consider it a coincidence because that can happen naturally, but I've been running some tests and placing votes to untie them the past two weeks and, every single time I've done so, the polls have ended up tied once more. Considering the circumstances, I can only assume there are people changing their votes to keep them that way. All four of the current polls are more or less in this position as of the time of writing this.
Please refrain from trying to game the poll results this way. Sometimes I finish writing commissions sooner or things happen irl that lead to me needing to move my schedule around, so I look to see if there is any poll content I can knock out a little early if I have time, which I can't do if everything is always tied. I want as many people to be able to vote and to give us much time as I can for patrons to do so, but because of behaviors like this I need to keep changing things around. If there was an option to make votes unchangeable I'd use that, but Patreon doesn't allow that via their polls unfortunately.
If it continues, I may be forced to limit the polls to only one vote per person again, or make the poll durations even shorter. Additionally, I am also able to snapshot to see who has voted on which options at any time during a poll's lifetime, so I can compare those snapshots at any point to see who has changed votes. Now that I'm aware this is happening I can check to see who is doing it if I need to, but I'd rather not have to resort to that.
So, after casting your votes please try to leave them unchanged unless you misclicked or something like that going forward!
