Batman did kill joker the conversation Batman had after was happening in his mind to justify what he did to himself. Like Joker never moves any other part of his body its just his lips during that whole convo Batman broke his neck which killed him instantly

Ah okay. Hmm 🤔 imma look more into it cause doesn’t the comic itself even have different colored dialogue for when Batman is talking to joker ? I’ll look into it more

In the comic everybody speech bubble is a separate color to distinguish who's who jokers was green once his neck got snapped the conversation after it changed to the same color as batman's which is yellow to show its his inner thoughts talking to him about what happened

@MiggyMig56 I had to double check my copy of the book to be sure, but jokers speech bubble is white before they enter the cave with yellow being robins. However when in cave Batman's speech bubbles are grey and the Joker doesn't actually speak until after the neck moment, after this its grey matching batman's. I believe the intention is to make it ambiguous with a soft confirmation that its in Bruce's head as you said.
