The 2nd Underworld has to be the next movie lol 🔥 hype

False P

I thought they were dropping it today

Saw this last night, and this might be the best out the trilogy! I knew Doc was involved but I really thought it was because his ex-wife was Cy’s mom so he wanted to get his revenge, 🥴. Anyway, GREAT to see Noah Sagan again as Nikolai > Derol > Trooper Wagner, 😂🤍.

Blackest Knight

I honestly had to stop and ask myself if it was gonna take the obvious route with a great twist or if it was really smoke or not. The actors killed it all the same. The 1st was magical, and this was art. Loved it.

yep this one had the best of mystery of the three easily. Its interesting how impossible murders are always the best but damn they are hard to be well written

Ronin Ghoul

I was expecting an animated movie & I’m NOT even mad. Especially since it’s THIS movie.😤

Bianca Eze

Co-sign. They made it obvious that it was Martha that was a culprit, but even the smartest person in the world would’ve never figured out why or how it happened in the way they elaborately planned it to be towards the end

Second comment: I know y’all don’t really like how the mystery was revealed, but as someone baptized Catholic, Benoit Blanc did it out of respect for Martha’s faith. The second it LITERALLY dawned on him, and he turned his head towards Martha, he realized he only had a very small amount of time left before the pentobarbital killed her. He purposefully pump faked his dramatic speech to seem like he really didn’t know the answer and put a false conclusion to the minds of the rest of the flock. It gave Martha a chance to confess her sins via free will to Father Jud. Had he not done so, imagine how everyone else’s curiosity would’ve worsened, especially the author, the cellist who’s dumbass gave ALL her savings to Wicks 😒, and Cy, a prime example of his fathers son.

lol this reaction unironicly shows how christian everyone is a funny side effect of this reaction

Blackest Knight

Nawww, watching this back, the MAGIC of these movies is the story telling and the camera misdirection. They show so much in plain view that if you really pay attention, you'll catch all the clues. The REAL sauce is in the why and how tho! The end explanations are always at least somewhat satisfying (thank you, Glass Onion). I will never stop recommending people to watch Case Closed/ Detective Conan if you love Sherlock Holmes style mysteries like this. It has more episodes than One Piece, so enjoy!

Probably next weekend or something. They said this month tho

I feel like despite what she did to the church Grace is not inherently a bad person; She stuck around for money that was promised to her for years only for it to be a lie, and while that time went by the entire church knew her as the harlot whore all because she had a child out of wedlock and liked expensive brands. Grace tore the church apart searching for the gem stone in a moment of weakness and then was taunted, father Jud punched a bishop for saying something he considered out of line; both these things would be seen as sacrilegious but I don't think father Jud is a bad person just like I don't believe Grace was as bad as everyone made her out to be.

grace was not a bad person. i feel like this movie has many different commentaries within it, but chief among them - to me - is: organized religion and its faults. all this woman did was have a child out of wedlock, dress a certain way, and like expensive things. all of which many catholics & christian’s are guilty of themselves (as also seen in the film). yet, these are some of the main folks shaming people for these actions. judgement and ridicule, which goes against religion(s) and its supposed “we welcome all” mentality. it’s hypocritical. she wasn’t a “whore,” she was a regular person. not doing any differently than the men walking around fucking whoever they want lmao.

Blackest Knight

Ya know, rewatching this for the 10th time (6 in reality) I think this movie works perfectly in conjuction with the 1st and should've been the 2nd movie in the series. Glass Onion would have made a good tone shift after knowing more about Blanc. Just a thought.

This movie was "aight," but it delivered far below the enjoyment of the previous movies of the franchise. It had integrated the classic perspective bait and switch we know with its previous films, and worked well with the pieces. However, the pieces and context to me were lackluster to begin with, so all it is is a good execution with low ceiling material, which averages at "aight." It's worthwhile to watch once since it's not a bad film. Yet I think even the dialogue sometimes became a low-hanging fruit. I don't even think it really highlighted the complexity of the issues of the church; it was just modern moralizing by Blanc that served as an ideological statement in the beginning that set the tone that these church people were hypocrites and wicked and the second protagonist said, "You're right, but what about the inspiration?" I'm not a Christian but I don't think that is serious. I found the priest Jud highly expendable. He filled so much space but seemed to have less impact than anyone else in terms of directing the film. He was used purely as a narrative plot piece rather than a compelling character. Every second character from the previous films was way better. And the social critique of modern society is straight-up comedically hyperbolic and not serious. Every side character is an archetype of modern society, and the Church is the straw man of the attitude of modern society. There is no depth. And to me, they should have made the third movie about something else rather than go into it. The entire film moves away from the previous ones since it's purely ideological; still, it can't even describe or contend with that ideology in any serious or self-aware way, and since it's the core of the film, it becomes another issue of why the movie can't be great. A third critique is the cold colors. The previous film utilized warm colors, and that is what made those films enjoyable. Now, I know that an argument is that the theme is church, knight and murder, so that fits the scene. But in my opinion, since it's not horror, the best and greater route would be to use warm colors but still play on lightning. It's one of the reasons why the later seasons of The Walking Dead are nearly unwatchable. It's dull and boring. It feels cheap and too sterile. Ironically, in the end, the cold color grading reinforces the film's flatness. It symbolizes its lack of shades of quality. Cheap monotone thematics rather than utilizing the wealth of depth-rich film, where darker lighting is used strategically. People underestimate this, but visual critiques in films are diagnostic of "are these people trying to propagate something that will sell for the least effort, or are they actually doing film?" And this type of mode of camera-use is second-rate for a highly successful brand of box office successful franchise in a time when that rarely happens anymore. I seriously think they have degraded the anticipation for future films with this one. In the end, I don't think this topic falls in line with the spirit of the previous films. It just feels like a film made for the TikTok age, rather than something playful and odd like the previous ones. Like the first thing about Blanc when he is asked about the Church and then reveals a deep condemnation, revealing everything he thinks about it like a teenager, betrays the way the character has acted so far. It's just "ah, you liked what he said there, Gen Z and Alpha." It's so cheap. The previous films were fun and quirky, but you can tell Blanc delivers a mature sort of wisdom, not quick to speak up with a cheap, morally contentious rant. He announces hitpoints before he investigates. It's just not how he has been written until this film. The quote of him saying that he "kneels at the altar of the rational" was very cringe too. They really altered Blanc for the worst to fit the low-hanging fruit of the movie. The actors did a great job with what they had. This is, at best, a 6.8 out of 10. The others were in the 8, for the first, and 7.5 for the second. IMDB scored the second worse than this one, but that is ridiculous. I expect it to dip over time because of recency bias, still it will probably hover around or even higher than the second, which to me is nonsensical.

I personally enjoyed it, This was a worthy successor of the prior two films. The acting and storytelling was amazing as usual. Josh O’Connor is slowly becoming one of my favorite actors. The storyline was interesting, compelling and mystery factor was A1 I’d give this a solid 8.5, this is my third time watching it.

Blackest Knight

PLEASE react to Detective Conan. I love watching yall trying to figure out mysteries lol The watch order could be wonky, but there is a dub and there several ways to enjoy it. It's got a couple of deeper plot lines, but it's pretty much just case after case of detective work. Very similar story structure to the Knives Out films. There are a few movies that I would suggest as a way to test the series out. They skip time throughout the series, but you can enjoy the movies without much prior knowledge (There's a recap at the beginning of each one) and you'll just want to watch the series more!
