This arc is just pure circus. As a kid I loved it but now I can see where it went sideways. If I believe correctly, in the manga, there was no shadow game between Atem and Bakura. You know the twist that the world is overseen by those two. The design for Zorc is bad. Thank god I did not realize where the dragon head comes from back then. They should have made him three headed and it would be better.

This arc's pretty different in the anime. Like in the manga Kaiba's final appearance is in Battle City so he wasn't in this arc at all. Zorc's design didn't bug me since we already had XYZ Dragon Cannon. Also the characters from the present have life points because they're using duel disks.

This arc was my favourite cause I was a massive fan of Atem and thoroughly invested in him as a character, so seeing his past and backstory finally here made the arc for me. But if u a fan of traditional duels then it might not be a fav for u, cause obv it wasn’t reg dueling this time. Once u wrap this up, u guys should watch the filler arc kaiba corp grand championship, lots of really good duels in it

Nah the manga had the rpg game aspect still, but there were lots of changes and less padding for time in the manga version. Also kaiba was never even there in the manga.

I liked it as a kid when I watched it on Kids WB but yeah, it's gone down for me compared to previous arcs like Battle City and Waking the Dragons (my favorite arc of the og show). One of the things that holds it back is for me in learning that: "Priest Seto was planned to have a much larger role, especially in the manga's "Millennium World Arc," where creator Kazuki Takahashi envisioned him betraying Atem to save Kisara (whose spirit becomes the Blue-Eyes White Dragon), leading to more conflict and scenes showing his deep connection to her, but this was scaled back for the anime/manga serialization, making him a more straightforward rival/ally to Atem rather than a full-blown villain/hero conflicted over Kisara." which makes a lot of sense especially when you as a viewer remember there's conflicting past stuff that was mentioned and even showed there clearly was a feud between Priest Seto and Atem, yet nope... sure the mural showed the battle between them which this arc was essentially when Priest Seto got controlled by his father possessing his body so that's where that comes from, but then Battle City with the seeing the past visions clearly showed more than just that so you can see the inconsistency.

It’s odd, you’d think Takahashi would have gone this original route since the dartz arc wasn’t in the manga, meaning he had time between battle city and pharaohs memory world to add more. Guess time restraints got in the way maybe.

Yes that is true. I forgot about Kaiba. That is why people were confused with dsod because he was not supposed to be in the final episodes.

This video is hilarious 🤣 yeah this arc aint that good lowkey wish yall watched the kaiba tournament right after Dartz Arc cause this arc aint hitting right now. The final Duel is back to basic dueling you will like it 💪 like the past stuff was cool but there was no "dueling" that we know. Also havent seen joeys monsters in so long i got hyped for red eyes and gearfried

I enjoy the first half of the arc far more than the second half. I was waiting for Bakura for years as a kid to be relevant and he was such a menace earlier in the arc. I also enjoyed the twist of him being in control of everything going on from above egypt. As soon as the Zorc stuff started happening though I thought that went on way too long and ultimately defeating him was far too quick once he learned his name and fused the egyptian gods I didnt enjoy anything to do with little yugi and his friends and felt that final duel with bakura was way too simple for the final duel of the arc. They really underutilised Kaiba and in the end he still has his reservations which I was hoping for him to have a complete change of perspective which didnt happen. The final 4 episodes are truly amazing and peak yugioh though so that bumps my rating up a bit Overall the full arc for me is 6/10. Simply average and the worst of the main arcs Arc rankings 1. Battle city 2. Dartz 3. Duelist kingdom 4. final arc 5. Noah arc 6. Arc in between dartz and final arc (never watched)

Yea this definitely wasn’t my favorite arc, Wakening the dragons was my top 1 followed by battle city, then KC Grand and Duelist KingDom/this arc were a tie for last.

If you've ever played the videos games I think the original concepts for the villains in this arc were Darknite and Nitemare. Who definitely in hindsight were cooler than Zorc lol
