He can't use magic because his gate is broken, so he uses spirit arts together with Beatrice. Basically he is the most talented athlete in Earth human standards which uses a whip and spirit arts together with a Great Spirit. He also has Return by Death and the Authority of Sloth so our boy is pretty OP.

In the light novel we see Subaru actually knocked Wrath out of a window on his first reset with the whip… she just came back up and killed him after. In general a lot of his light novel minor feats get cut but he’s still doing probably as well as a human can in this situation

Subaru could off himself but he’s trying not to because he started learning to value his life during the meeting with the witches. So he wont kill himself unless it seems absolutely necessary

If i remember correctly, the whip is the easiest weapon for him to learn to use. A sword or something else would take much longer. Right now subaru does have return by death, the invisible hand, and a couple spells when he’s with beatrice, but subaru is never gonna be a fighter fighter, that’ll be garfiel and emilia.

Jerry's brain needs to be studied. How are you 3 seasons in and still don't understand that Subaru's main role is the strategist. Subaru is just a regular high-schooler with a broken power that requires him to learn, adapt and change the outcome of near impossible events. You already get your cool 1v1 fights with the other side characters like Garfiel, Emilia, Rem etc.

Listen i get it but its not necessarily that he doesnt understand. Its that he doesnt wanna accept it. After all, most stories are not like this. Wanting to see your mc pop off is natural. That happens in rezero, just in a different way than other anime

he cant use magic because he broke his gate back in season 1 thats why beatrice holds his hand to help channel mana from his body to hers so he doesnt get mana sick

honestly man shoutout RTTV for getting me back into Re Zero man. Fell in love with this show and binged watched S1-2. And getting caught up weekly killed the pacing for me so I ended up falling off. Now im sitting here like how tf did I ever stop watching this shit its so peak lmao.
