Get this to 40 likes for this solid start to this prequel/sequel series. This show takes place after House of Dragons and before Game of Thrones with our main character Ser Duncan the Tall. It's comedic tone let's us know we're gonna be in for a fun ride. How'd you feel about the first episode?

I gotta say it. This ep is not even mid, this is the REAL ‘nothing happened’ word to Zoro. HBO is falling off. this show, last of us season2, house of the dragon s2, Dune Series. A horrible recent 3-4 years. Let’s hope they pick it up

I hope so man. I’m not even an action is necessary person, remember the 1 on 1 verbal scenes we had in s1-4 of game of thrones? That’s what we need, great writing , dialogue acting etc. so far there was not one memorable conversation or line in this ep

the acting, dialogue and great writing is clearly there lol. dunk is clearly a decent man who wants more for himself, lyonel baratheon is arrogant but also charming, etc, i think you need to realise this is not game of thrones or house of the dragon, those stories are about the highborn people and how they deal with politics, war, intrigue, etc. this story is more about the smallfolk, and its by design meant to be lighthearted and more "on the ground". it would be like comparing empire strikes back and revenge of the sith to mandalorian season 1. just because mando season 1 is lower stakes does not mean it can't be of a high quality. and ironically, when it comes to quality the dunk and egg novels are actually considered GRRMs best work!

I don’t care about stakes dude. Sopranos and the wire are all time favourites due to writing , the weight of personal interactions and character development. This could have been a movie

I def think that little boy is a Targaryen, like you said wells he really well spoke, his head is shaved, but also remember im game of thrones that one Targaryen at the wall was saying the name “eggg” and the kids name is “egg” so.

I personally like this, i like this new approach, and like wellz said i feel likes this can only happen in a more peaceful time were people aren’t as stuck up and alert of people trying to overthrow them or whatever the case may be. This first episode was good to me in terms of establishing what the series is going to be and who ducan is as a person

smh lol, i swear people like you nowadays can’t handle slower paced shows smh, House of dragons is good, the last of us only gets shit on fr bc of bella ramsey in general and also that one line she’s says about being a dad that was meant to be a joke. i’ve never been interested in the dune series, but regardless, This was a good set up episode establishing the times and who ducan is. People were calling Pluribus ass bc it started off slow and they stopped, but people with actual attention spans and openness to different types of concepts, plots and characters say it’s great.

Agreed, and we learned in original game of thrones from tywin and arya's exchange that low born say mi'lord not my lord. dude is def high born. If theres a reason hes bald but it reminds me of when that guy cut arya's hair to disguise her. if that kid is targaryen then his hair is probably a dead give away.
