Nah you didn't comprehend fully what you saw this episode. Maki annihilated the "Hei" squad of the Zenin Clan. In this world the only folks that can do that is special grade or a heavenly restricted person. Proof is all in what we've seen in the show lol

the only thing I'll say is maki is 110% not toji, the only toji we saw alive was a extremely rusty toji with a short amount of prep time and the entire clan knew at any point he could wipe them. toji was a different breed. maki basically got the first stage of his power

The whole “maki is equal to toji” refers to the completion of the restriction. Toji had that from birth since he wasn’t a twin. Toji is maki just with about 2-3 decades of experience.

The manga states she is the same strength as Toji. The only difference is Toji has a better battle IQ then Maki but by the end of JJK Maki outlives toji live span and has gotten into more serious fights then toji does, she is equal to him in strength but by the end she surpasses him in battle IQ.

Maki here has heavenly restriction now, it was the same power Toji had. Now toji could only have that power BECAUSE he had zero cursed energy. Maki before couldn't reach heavenly restriction because she had a very small amount of curse energy but it was so small because her sister Mai took most of it in the womb. Maki and Mei didn't actually merge here, Mei stopped fighting and allowed herself to die and take every bit of makis curse energy with her to death so that Maki could reach heavenly restriction that Toji had.

read the manga and they make a very clear she is not on his level yet and she multiple times says "What did toji have that I'm missing" only by the very end does she basically even get the physical stats and understanding of how toji fights. and even then she doesnt have the Battle IQ or the storehouse curse which toji used to beat gojo while both rusty and with a rather limited tool set

Crazy how none of them caught where that sword came from? The sword wasn't in that room before but after that scene on the beach, the sword was in her hand - Her sister was able to create solid object with her curse technique (Bullets), so I believe her sister's last act was to create a cursed weapon for Maki, Also it's not that they fused, it's that they fully separated - Think of it as the two of them tied together running, Maki is going to be slowed down by her sister's existence, without her sister there, Maki can now run at full speed. (Her sister even said that Maki wanted to get stronger but it would make no difference as Mai didn't want to so they was cancelling eachother out) By far the best episode and I'm with Rob, I don't know how they can top this episode, the music throughout the fight scenes was peak!

To give a little more clarification on her power boost. Heavenly Pact is a involuntary shedding of cursed energy. Even the standard human has cursed energy. Cursed energy/Jujutsu Techniques view identical twins as one person. Thus Mai was gifted the cursed technique/energy & Maki was "cursed" with a Heavenly Pact. Since Cursed Energy/Jujutsu views twins as the same Mai's cursed energy was holding Maki's pact back as it was reading her as still having cursed energy. Once Mai died that false reading disappeared and gave her the full benefits of the Pact. She has reached Tojis level in the Pact, but has a lot of room to get stronger.
