So here are a few things you should know now that you’ve watched this episode: • Remember episode 1x9 where Dipper and Mabel get Blendin’s time tape and go back to the past and Stan comes out when he hears them before they disappear? That was actually Ford, not Stanley. • Also, Stanley always knew that Gideon was a fraud as a psychic because Gideon kept calling him Stanford. If Gideon actually did have mind reading psychic powers, he would have known that his real name was Stanley. • The password for McGucket’s laptop that Dipper couldn’t crack was confirmed by the show’s creator Alex Hirsch to be “Stanford”. • Stanley’s branded tattoo was investigated by Dipper in the short “Dipper’s Guide to the Unexplained: Stan’s Tattoo” with little success. And you’re lucky you could watch this episode immediately after the next one. When the show first aired, fans had to wait four months after the cliffhanger reveal of Stan’s brother.

A few other things: • When Dipper and Mabel’s parents sent them to Gravity Falls, they thought they were sending them to the smart and scientific Stanford and they thought Stanley was dead. • When Stanley was wearing the truth telling teeth, he said he regularly commits massive tax fraud. It’s mostly because he was claiming himself to be Stanford Pines on his tax returns instead of Stanley Pines. • The spare room in the Mystery Shack that Dipper and Mabel fought over with the mind-switching rug was Ford’s main room. Stanley boarded it up a long time ago and took Ford’s spare glasses when he walked into the room again pretending he had no idea what the room was.
