the avatar live action is actually cheaper than the one piece live action for season 1 at least. one piece builds a lot of sets and has to create a lot of distinct settings. both are very high budget for tv tho

Jerry was actually right in his argument in the beginning. They were 100% referring to Avatar Roku vanishing “when the world needed him most.” That’s why they immediately reference finding the new avatar, Aang, right afterwards.

"when the world needed him most, he vanished" literally refers to Aang disappearing around the time the fire nation have already begun their conquest. When Avatar Roku was alive, the line "When the world needed him most" Wouldn't make sense because it was in peace time, so the world did not need Roku then, but the world certainly needed Aang in his present time. The Avatar cycle has been going on for centuries. The fire nation specifically knew Air was going to be next so they tried to wipe out all of them except for obviously Aang. If in ALL 4 books of Avatar, Katara been narrating about Roku and not the MC in ALL the intros, you got that Jerry… lol

Yall were all wrong and jerry was right, the avatar that vanished was Roku and the avatars in general so they thought. The world didnt know the avatar was aang, they only knew the cycle was going to be air, so after roku disappeared, only the monks knew in aangs temple, but no one else, fire nation only knew the element up next, hence why they wiped out all air. So Jerry was correct.

Roku died and no one knew except Sozin. Sozin then seeked out the next Avatar and wiped out the Air Nomads but failed to find him. We audience didnt find out the truth of Rokus death until S3 which to this day one my fav eps.

Trust google it. They didn’t know Aang was next but they knew what nation because the cycle had an order (Air,water,earth,fire) in which the avatar would be reincarnated . Which is why they when the comet arrived he used it to kill all the air benders not realizing one was frozen. Which is why after that happened they took all the water-benders from katara village thinking the cycle would continue with water after killing all air benders
