LETS GOOOO!!! dope episode!!!

When Daemon gets actual screen time instead of getting high in a castle this show is peak. A+ episode. Rhaenyra acting way too soft. Daenerys would never second guess herself

Taurean Reign

Three seasons in and they still refer to Vhaegar as he lol. That’s an old B

TR

Is Rob actually team green? 🤣

Darrell Henry

Daemon chose to keep his Prince title so it wouldn’t undermine her. Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth’s husbands did the same in the real world.

Yes he likes Aemond lol 😭

I cannot stand Sarah Hess as a writer. Now, I really enjoyed the episode. Sarah Hess, as a writer, can't get out of her own way and uses the most basic, acknowledged tropes in all her writing. She boils down the conflict to "men bad, women good," and it's so annoying. She wrote the episode in season one that felt out of place, which was episode 9, where the Queen, who "never was," came out of the ground, had the Greens in her sights, killed a bunch of innocent people, but didn't wipe out the Greens when she had a chance. She is the epitome of "wouldn't it be cool if?" The Master of Laws had Allicent in his sights. He could have had her do anything he wanted; why would he choose to do that to her? It doesn't make any sense, other than men can't help themselves, and I can't stand writing like that. Other than that, this had everything I could possibly want in a show in the House of the Dragon in the Game of Thrones universe: battles, dragons, fire, and blood. This feels like it was the finale to last season. The last episode felt like the penultimate episode; this felt like it would have been the season finale.

Rhaenyra is so dumb is the episode 3 trailer she let alicent council her.

Joey Tiramisu

That’s crazy. I’m annoyed at rhaenyra looking upset at alicent seeing ottos dead. That’s the least to expect Otto started this entire war

aScattaBrain

House of the dragons is peak drama. lmaoo. tht end was grimey

Daniel Odunukwe

That's the point. it was suppose to be the finale for season 2 but they cut it off. That's why season 2 felt lacking in a way

Six Paths

Fire episode. Rhaenyras actress did an amazing job. The amount her character has had to go through in such a short span of time is crazy.

Daniel Gonzalez

It sucks the showrunners can't just tell GRRMs story always got touch things up getting rid of nettles and making it so Rhaena was responsible for Jaces death is dumb and wth with that almost rape scene like wth was the point still a good episode tho

Duke

yea i hate sara's writing. but yea ep 1 and 2 were supposed to be the season 2 finale before the writers strike forced them to cut it out since no writers were able to complete the script.

Joey Olsen

otto left for old town last season, larys captured him and kept him in the cells, he didnt run from anyone fyi, hes the grandfather of the king.

Joey Olsen

nah basically all of book 5 is dany second guessing herself in mereen over drogon killing some little kids, and then locking her dragons up in a dungeon lol... rhaenyra is known as rhaenyra the cruel for a reason you'll see soon.

Joey Tiramisu

Books? You mean the stuff that George forgot about? We don’t care about that since he doesn’t either

Sara Hess has multiple things terrible about her writing and you complain about the one fucking thing she got thematically right. This has nothing to do with "men bad women good", and everything to do with the fact that Alicent is an attractive queen who the MoL knows had an affair with Cole, and now that he catches her in the midst of treason he thinks he can take advantage of her. It makes perfect sense and encapsulates the rot of positions of power during Alicents regency and Aegons rule. Hess' problem is characters making decisions that don't fit with their characterization, please tell me how trying to SA the queen doesn't fit in the characterization of the MoL This is the problem with a lot of you show fans, you complain about the wrong things entirely. Y'all complained that mad queen dany made sense but was rushed, when it made no fucking sense characterization wise, y'all complained Jon wasn't made king or killed the Night King when his story should never have been about either, y'all complained about Tyrion being suddenly dumb when the issue was that after his trial he was supposed to become very bitter instead the show made him a goody two shoes hypocrite. So on and so forth with over a dozen more examples of misplaced critique

Jamaal Ellison

First of all, don't lump me in with everyone else. My opinions are my own. Second of all, yes, those things exist in the book, but the way she does it is heavy-handed. George uses a scalpel; she uses a katana. Instead of showing, she actually just says it. In the script, there's a line where Allison literally says, "Will, you blame me only for what men have done." Jesus Christ, dude.
