Mysaria has to be worst master of whispers ever Aegon and Larys are walking around the crownlands with free will.

Yall completely missing the point as to why she didn’t legitimize them is on brand. Also, it’s not like she said she wouldn’t do it, She just said later like she has enough problems that as it is. But Corlys acting like he didn’t claim his sons who he cheated on his wife with five minutes ago is the same as her bastards whom she had to produce because his son was gay is insane , mind you if he believed Laenor was still alive He would’ve never claimed those two.

Joey Tiramisu

Wellz is right at the end. Corlys literally said I don’t care “ history remembers names, not blood”. Them white kids had his last name Velaryon, that’s all he cared about. Corlys never called them bastards. His wife Rhaenys was the one who didn’t accept those kids as her grandkids and wanted Damon’s daughters as the Velaryon heir because at least daemon was married to Laena, their daughter . Season 1 episode 7.

when is drake maid of honour coming out

Corlys in the book never acted out of character that way, idk what these show runners are doing - no wonder GRRM stepped away from production. Corlys knew Leanor was gay and Rhaenys (his wife) constantly reminded him of it, he still forced his son to marry for power. Thats why he accepted Jace, Luc and Joff at the end of the day cause they had his name and thats all that mattered to him. HE cheated on his wife and now wants his bastards legitimized (which is his right i guess), even though he would NEVER have dared to do it if Rhaenys was alive. He cant then scream at Rhaenyra as if she's in the wrong when the situation is of his own making. He wanted to be in proximity to the crown - from season one his wife told him it was a bad idea that would result in death. Now his treasures are burned, both his legitimate children and his wife are dead cause he wanted to claw for more power. If he had never forced his son to marry they would likely be just fine.

Somebody said the current Showrunners turned the show into Bridgerton and I can't unsee it especially when Alicent and Rhaenyra have their little TikTok bait scenes.

Procrastination often leads to inaction. Rhaenyra may be strategically delaying the legitimization of Corlys's sons to maintain his allegiance and influence. She consistently provides justifications for her inability to formalize their status. Ultimately, she harbors a sense of shame regarding the paternity of her first three sons, though this does not diminish her affection for them. Nevertheless, this underlying shame persists. The initial secrecy surrounding their parentage was intended to safeguard her claim to the throne. However, with the conflict concluded and her victory secured, the need for pretense has diminished. As the reigning Queen, she could readily legitimize his sons as requested. Corlys represents her most significant ally, and alienating him would be ill-advised. Furthermore, possessing the world's most formidable military, including six dragons, she faces no credible opposition. She could similarly legitimize her own son, but her reluctance stems from her aforementioned shame.

The final reason for Corlys to stay loyal to Rhaenyra evaporated with Jace's death in the Gullet. So, at the very least, she should be trying to keep him happy.

Joey Tiramisu

Yeah she is moving lightskin now. Big C done a lot for her. The blockade and the naval army is all him.

these show runners are planting seeds for corlys's future arc its pretty obvious

Ya’ll keep speaking over the dialogue and missing it! She tried to say we should wait to legitimize Addam and Alyn. Perhaps in a year….Corlys was out of line yelling where everyone could hear! His anger is justified but he needed to be patient! You just acknowledged them because you lost everything! You took years to even acknowledge them and you want the Queen to rush and make them Velaryons! Like…let me get the money and the lights back on first! It’s her first week! Lol

Laenor for all intents and purposes is not alive and will not be coming back. In the books he's supposed to be "actually" dead, not fake dead. The writers decided to just make him disappear instead. There is nothing unusual about a noble who has no living heirs around to inherit to ask that a bastard be legitimized and made his heir instead, pretty normal and actually happened back in Game of Thrones. There's not much reason to wait. Legimitizing Alyn and Addam isn't some difficult or controversial thing, and even if it is she should still do it cause Corlys has sacrificed almost everything for her. She's just ashamed and insecure, like Corlys said.

Subtitles please 😭. Fire reaction as always 😘

In GoT that was diff times where people didnt care as much, but you saw just like in GOT, how having a bastard as an heir can be a problem no matter who, At first i thought i t was because she didnt have a ceremony to become queen, but now i see that her reasoning is valid, but i see corluss's point too

aScattaBrain

I understand both sides for rhaenyra and corluss

aScattaBrain

"Corluss in the books never acted this way"... this isnt the books. GRRM need to finish the actual series lol. Corluss still has did a lot for Rhaenyra, Regardless of his family issues, i can see why he feels entitled but its still on him, and rhaenyra sees it a diff at least for that time, bc its not like she said no

aScattaBrain

My thing with rhaenyra councils, imo the one she has now is better, she just doesn’t have council or people for specific things some people are requesting, or even a rat catcher, but the people she has now may bicker, but they actual speak about real shit and how to try and solve it, I don’t like that Daemon is always on the queen of whispers ass bc she smart asf and her points be valid, she literally used to live amoung the people so who better to have. Rhaenyras old council tho would always just question her decisions and not provide any help if their own while she tried to come up with plans. Imo Rhaenyra is actually tuff and smart plays in the moment right now, where we can literally see here processing things as she’s on her period too which is a funny add. But she has to add more people, i don’t think she should get the people from dragon stone though. But daemon is the iron fist and Mysiria is the same calculated one, that may suggest a different option than killing

aScattaBrain

lol Daemon tweaked his sword towards ulfs neck a little when he was knighting him 😂

aScattaBrain

I don’t agree with jerry saying rhaenyra is impulsive. She had to kill otta bc of everything he’s done but especially bc the eyes of the people were on her, and daemon is wanting her to just kill people, but that’s not how you have people willingly submit for “generation” if that ever happens for a king or queen” so she’s being smart and not just chopping heads. We gotta understand Rhaenyra and allicent have never grew or up or experienced war until they were older, Her dad was a man of peace and it was basically peace until he died, then people challenged rhaenyra, but also bc allicent misunderstood what her husband was saying… But her Getting the commons folk support was smart, bc she even mentioned to the person who brought the issue to her that, “the blockade was lifted so things she flow back naturally”, but then the lady said “the blockade isn’t the only thing that drove us to want” so they know about the blockade already, it’s more about the disrespect of the nobles during that time. imo the best thing i can compare it to is “crimes against humanity” but this worlds version, bc they took all the resources so no one else could

Six Paths

Both perspectives make sense. Corlys has nothing left and has been loyal to Rhaenyra, with this being is only ask of her. However, it is a situation of his own making. He did have an affair and was perfectly fine ignoring those two their entire lives, and now at the worst possible time asks Rhaenyra to legitimize them. He lashed out at Rhaenyra in public about her own bastards, but they only exist because Corlys' own son was unable to provide Rhaenyra with children. Not to mention one of those kids Corlys called a bastard just died saving his fleet. Rhaenyra just took the throne and westeros/kings landing is divided and at a low point. Children born out of wedlock are called bastards for a reason, there is a very negative perception around them. Legitimizing them as one of her first acts at the worst possible time, on top of her own children being bastards, would look really bad. That being said Corlys is one of her most important allies and she needs to find a way to keep him happy.

TR

What are you talking about?? This Dance of the Dragons story is in Fire and Blood which is a completed history and has little to do with GRRM's unfinished Song of Ice and Fire series... and I get Corlys feeling entitled, im not saying he's wrong but it IS out of character for him to behave that way especially as this situation is of his own making. No one has to jump to his tune simply because he's lost a lot, everyone has lost a lot. He didnt give a damn about those boys before. Rhaenyra did not say no she wouldnt legitimize them, she said not now. That is the right choice, we literally see in this episode that shes already on bad terms with the faith - why rub more salt in that wound by naming bastards legitimate as soon as she comes into power.

aScattaBrain

He didnt just lose a lot, he sacrificed a lot, I agree with Rhaenyra but im just saying this inst the books, so to says hes acting out of character doesnt really matter. Hes valid for asking and she valid for not doing it at the moment in time

aScattaBrain

So what about Arya not being found for 8 season?

KlausTop1

She is farther from Kings Landing than Aegon and Larys is
