I also believe Lalo would have killed Walter earlier then Gus attempted to. Gus allowed his pride to get in the way but LAlo would have Walter eliminated quickly

Something so fire about this vendetta Gus had for the Salamancas is, even though he kills Lalo before any other Salamanca - he also ends up dying to a gift from Lalo at the very end. The bell hector uses for communication, and later for the bomb that Walter planted, was the same bell Lalo gave Hector in this Season 4.

Gus was surprised that jimmy talked lalo into taking Kim instead of him because if lalo was serious about getting him assasinated he would be stubborn about the way it should be done The fact he was talked into doing it a different way shows it was a diversion plan not an assassination attempt.

Gustavo got hit twice one to the chest which the vest stopped and the 2nd one was lower closer to the side of his hip and stomach, and happened when they were shooting in the dark
