This was a lot of fun watching again alongside you. I'm impressed with how well you understand most characters, although they aren't as fleshed out as in the anime. Griffith really doesn't like to lose does he. His plan was always to get close to the princess, but having lost Guts he just hurried through the plan and lost everything in the process. And you have no idea what is coming in the next movie...a big surprise coming your way! :) Remember to watch the end credits for the last movie, since it has some extra scenes at the end.

Although Griffith would not acknowledge, I think he did subconsciously treat Guts as his friend. He also seemed to care a little too much for him compared to other members of the Hawks as was shown on multiple occasions. At the same time he did now want to lose Guts as a member of the Hawk. And Guts always wanted to be Griffith's equal and hence decided to leave him. And now because of is mistake Griffth lost EVERTHING that he built using the band of the hawks...an army, a reputation, a knight's honor, his DREAM! He lost everything. Made me wonder where this story would go now?! And I was truly surprised!
